I'm thinking of getting the DG Smart Plan™ 48 (1GB a month) just to use whatsapp (and maybe just do a little bit of surfing). Is that good enough? Or should I get a package with 3GB a month?

1GB like kinda too much for whatsapp. About 10MB is consider too much already for texting. If you receive and send files alot might take 100MB

and this whatsapp thread are in Symbian section sweat.gif ..

better u ask there.. because u use iPhone, i bet there are many iPhone user that use whatsapp rather than Symbian user that know whatsapp functionality in iPhone..

AFAIK, even you turn off wifi in the settings, whatsapp still search for it if you dont have internet connection while opening whatsapp,

Hi, i'm planning to get another phone just for Whatsapp and i plan to use the wifi function only. Any cheap hp for this?

I will be using this phone with my prepaid number (no more data plan).

Not too sure how cheap is cheap. I guess most smartphones these days can accomodate Whatsapp. You can use Whatsapp with all Nokia smartphones as the application can be downloaded from the Nokia store. It can be used with wifi once the phone is configured that way. I am sure other phones will allow this as well.

It may be more prudent to choose a phone that you prefer more in terms of features and design since Whatsapp is available in most smartphones.

I already have an iphone, so i wanted something simple. How much are the Nokia phones that can support whatsapp and what are the models?

I know Samsung Wonder Y (i think this is the model) is RM399.

For Nokia phone models that can support whatsapp and the price, you can refer to the link below. Apparently the cheapest Nokia phone that supports wifi is Nokia C3 (RM320-330). Can probably get cheaper prices in-store.

Mobile88 Eprice Link

You can check the prices of other phones as well. Usually phones with wifi features will have allowance for Whatsapp, since one can download the application from the respective online stores. I know this service is available with Nokia, not too sure about other manufacturers, hence best is to check with the phone sellers or use google. Or perhaps others here can advise.

Basically in the link above, you can check on the phones that come with wifi and their respective prices.

I think most of the apps recommended here are for symbian s60 and above. Nokia Asha is series 40 and it's not compatible
