the more i look at Teana, actually it is not bad..quite nice also. but i can't get it some said don't like the CVT..what's wrong with the CVT? blink.gif ..sorry i am not good on engine technology.
*
It was due to the rubber band effect. When the accelerator pedal was pressed, CVT immediately brings the engine rpm and noise up to a high level as the speed slowly rises. This gives a feeling of clutch slip effect. People always thought engine revs is synchronized with speed, which is the case for conventional auto but not CVT.

Modern day CVT, like those we are get in the Teana has far less rubber band effect since the CVT software could calculate the set up at "first gear" at a faster rate.

But the CVT for the Teana is the Same as the Syphy rite? I think this rubber band effect is still apparent in the Sylphy.
*
I'm not sure about that. Maybe Nissan upgraded the CVT software for the Teana even it is still the same CVT unit in the Sylphy.

The current technology of CVT as of now still couldn't eliminate the rubber band effect 100%. Even my CVT which is made in Belgium still have some rubber band effect during pick up and parking.

wah, your teana must have good resale value since low mileage when you want to sell it at the end of the day

dont butthurt lah.

every car owner has his/her utmost right to compliment or condemn his/her car.

Dont always listen to sweet talk only. Sometimes, bitter talk is good too. There's still sweetness after the bitter taste.

the reason why you cant feel any gear shifts because there is no any gears in the first place. smile.gif

Hmm... but i saw the Spec regarding the 6 speed ratio, aren't that the gear ratio?
Hehe, i quite not clear on the CVT tech. pai seh
*
That one is software in the CVT to give you the conventional 6-speed shifting feel. Even if you take a look at the spec sheet, all the ratios for all 6 gears is the same, means it is constantly in variable ratio mode.

Nissan even make a very nice flash presentation about their XTRONIC CVT:

http://www.nissan.com.my/vehicles/teana/#technologies

watch it and you will understand. biggrin.gif

maybe VQ engine prefers RON97? I remember when previously using the cefiro with VQ, that ron97 is recommended..

even my rotary prefers RON97 or else really severe pinging and loss of power...

uncle 188 can afford it.

passat i nv try before. heard it is good.

what makes me chose teana instead of others,
super comfy. camry and accord wont b as comfy as teana, for sure.
the cvt gearbox. for very very smooth driving.
it looks good. not feel high profile. i personally don like those high profile looking but cheap car (like the koreans) very much. it certainly looks good. but in long term.. no..

but mine is only a 2.0L, not the 2.5L, the 2.5L have different engine sound which i like it alot.

V6 mah. The growl is so sexy... brows.gif

Inline-4 usually sounds so strained, like a cat getting strangle using cable ties. laugh.gif
