I'm a newbie here. Thought wanted to get some support and info on breastfeeding and breastpumps.

Juanny, thanks for the suggestions on cheap breastpumps!

Was blogwalking, saw this one blog, quite cheap as well: mykedaibaby.blogspot.com

Same, can pay instalment as well.

But I think breastpumps, esp electric ones - are too bulky!! sad.gif

hi, yea..those double electric one looks bulky but the medela freestyle is not! and if you are full time working mummy, really suggest you go for double electric pump as it is really saves your time. imagine, you want to pump at work. each breast takes you at least 10-15 mins. if you use double u can finish pumping by 15 mins, then u have to wash your pump and dis-assembly your pump, so total about half hour compared to if single electric which takes you 15 mins EACH breast..pumping time alone already taking you 30mins not including washing your breastpump parts.. sweat.gif

yea..most of the blog selling cheap and good breastpump at affordable price including me! rclxm9.gif choose wisely ya!

I will be having my first child in March. But I am still looking and confused to buy a milk pump. This is because some of my friends suggested to buy a cheap brand first. Because they said I need to wait and c my milk production.
Actually i was interested on Medela free-style, but it is quite expensive and I worry i wont able to use it effectively.
Please give me some opinions..

Added on January 12, 2012, 3:58 pmI want to go to BF class .. how can i do that ? Any hospital suggestion? How much is the cost ?

dont trust cheap brand. cheap brand does not able to help you to stimulate the milk flow and unable to help u to extract the milk in a comfortably way and end up you will give up.
and all mums are capable to breastfeed and it is just a matter you WANT or DONT WANT. it is all about your determination and how far you willing to sacrifice your "valuable" time for the sake of your little one. rolleyes.gif

as for breastpump, no doubt medela freestyle is the best but there are few people selling online at cheaper price including me. if you interested, pm me and i am willing to share more with you. smile.gif
as i am selling breastpump and now i am telling you from my experience, lots of chinese mummy are not willing to buy breastpump. but malay WILL. chinese mummy i encounter will always give lots of excuses such as, work commitment (hey, i encountered a mummy who her work requires her to travel, she too bring her freestyle wherever she goes!!), worry no milk (not relevant to me.. sweat.gif ), worry unable to breastfeed long (really depends on your determination and if you are willing to), etc, etc...

and first time mummy...relax is the key. dont give urself too much pressure on breastfeeding. once give birth, ask the nurse to teach you how to nurse your newborn. and dont give up. smile.gif

agree with Syd G.

i myself is a Chinese, most Chinese gave the reason no milk la.. not enough milk...

i onli got 2 fren who breast feed their baby.. and.. they are malay ~.~
i really do wonder .. the rest of my chinese fren who gave the reason no milk.. is excuse?? they did not keep on pump etc?
if is really no milk.. then y God give us these 2 breast? don tell me for decoration purpose...

lucky i have relatives tat support my intention of breast feeding in future..
even told me they might give me Medela advance pump in style ~~~ yeah yeah yeah smile.gif

lol...yea..
family support is important too. last time my aunt told me to stop breastfeeding after 2 months as im going to work then. I said, the problem now lies with me and im choose to breastfeed and myself not complaining, why you?? mad.gif
second...my MIL who will be taking care my little one after i go back to work after confinement (taking care daytime) also suggested me to mix with formula milk. i just put deaf ear loh (cant hentam balik mah... sweat.gif ). in order to avoid my MIL to feed my little one with formula, i returned all 4 tins of formula milk (which i bought for standby) back to the store. sweat.gif but soon, my MIL also get use to it la. thumbup.gif

Meaning advanced with backpack is working better?
*
erm. i would say depends on your requirement. if you are plan to breasfeeding while working, meaning working mummy, then suggest to get freestyle. as it is lighter, portable and small, and stylish. rolleyes.gif

remember, backpack requires total of 8 or 10 (cant remember) AA baterries in order to operate if you do not have the power supply, while freestyle comes with rechargeable battery. hope this helps. smile.gif
