Recently my account got blocked by eBay. They suspect my account was accessed by a third party and due to security reasons they blocked the account to eliminate any damage or losses.
Its fine with me. The issue I am facing now is to get my account re-activated. eBay Live Chat is where I need to speak to their consultant to get my account re-activated. The issue I been facing now for the past 3 days is that I cant get hold of and agent to chat with. The waiting time is staggering 45-80 minutes on the chat service.
Isn't it crazy for someone sit in front of the computer screen waiting for such a long time to chat with a representative from such a big organization. I wonder if anyone have face similar issue I have gone through.
Also to note, I had a identical problem with PayPal, my account was re-activated after more then 1 month. I had to fax in a copy of my identity card, driving license, utility bill, passport and bank statement cover page.
I think they are doing this because we are Asian. I have a gut feeling on this. Why do I say this ? All support chats are routed to India to support the South East Asia customer and they are Philippines and Malaysia. Isn't this abit too obvious ?
Please input here so we can be more aware on which organization to deal with and how to deal with them in the near future just in case if we have to.
