Hi Fellow Experts,

I was using the Digi Huawei modem previously on my Win XP and it worked fine. However my HDD crashed and i got a new replacement with W7 installed right now. I have have VMware Player installed in the current W7 system.

The problem i am facing now is, if i start up my laptop, log in to windows, then plug in the E1550 modem, the will be no response. On the Digi startup screen there are no signal shown and when click 'connect', it says device is not detected. And the laptop can't shut down after this happen.

The only solution that i found is to plug in the modem prior to starting the PC. This will then work.

I am not sure have you guys got any idea on any work around, if you do, it will be highly appreciated.

This could be a related link as well,
E1550

Many thanks,

Try this >

Uninstall the driver from your PC

Create an Admin account

Reinstall the driver from that Admin account

Login into your account and see whether it works or not .

My problem is reversal , if i plug the modem and start the PC , it stuck at Bios until you unplug n restart again =) some times driver installation can be faulty , so try the steps above and tell us here if it works =)

I've managed to solve the modem detection issue on my laptop. It was due to VMware that disable the auto run of the modem driver.
After uninstall the Vmware, my modem was detected without any problem at all. smile.gif
