I just got my contract free IP4 this morning from Maxis Centre in TTDI. Was the first IPhone buyer to arrive this morning (was there even before it opened lol), but took my sweet time to finish getting my iPhone lol.

To anyone wondering, if you're early enough, yep they'll allow you to buy outright (I got a hotline pack anyway lol, just for the heck of it). And as for the total number of units available for purchase (mainly for contract), one of the workers told me it was around 20-30 per day.

Also, outright purchase units are ALSO eligable for the Zero Interest repayment scheme thing (or at least it did in my case), in case anyone's wondering. This was quite surprising really. I really thought you had to pay lumpsum cash for an outright unit, lol.

I had a feeling I'd bump into a LYNer lol, and yeah that was me. It was nice meeting you, btw.

Also agree on the TTDI staff being very friendly and professional. I mean, I even got an exchange unit on the spot for a cosmetic blemish on the first unit they opened for me. Anywhere else I'd expect them to pull the old "activated edi cannot change" trick on me lol.

Kinda makes me forget a bit that I'm in this customer service hell that is Bolehland.

Just a quick question.. anyone still manage to buy the phone with prepaid/outright plan from Maxis with the 500mb free data per month for a year?

I did on Saturday from TTDI Maxis Center. Not using the free data though lol (SIM's in my spare phone), already have unlimited Celcom BB.

It should be better, but I have a feeling that Celcom is gonna be really, really late to the party (like just a few months before iPhone 5 is released late lol).

@selenik: I got a 32GB one, though IINM they had ample stock of 16GB back then in TTDI.

im going to TTDI this saturday, 16GB available there?

I'm not 100% sure (I don't work there lol), but as one of the supposedly "premier" Maxis centers catering for the iPhone epidemic, they should have it in stock.

Are you sure of this??
thinking of going to sunway tomorrow to buy for friend....
if cant get with maxis there...maybe i can try with this Hiro Store....

As long as you're not buying outright I think. The only ones giving full contract-free purchase is Maxis proper (and sometimes Digi) it seems.

Wow, iPhone 5 half a year away and there's still this much demand? Stevie must be proud of himself now.

But what can I say, I just killed off my credit card limit with app purchases, I'm not sure I should be sad or proud about it.

With that said, our very own "blue Verizon" is taking it's own sweet time to release the iPhone, really.

I bought with contract. I heard without contract very difficult to buy.

I must've gotten really lucky then. Or really unlucky looking at how much the App Store is draining my money clean.
