Hi Guys, I wanna buy a new phone (brand new, original with warranty).
I saw Nokia X3-02 (X3 Touch and Type) 78g RM550 and Nokia 6730 83g RM480. Which should I get between these two? S40 vs Symbian/S60? Apart from these two Nokias, are there any others around the range of RM400-RM600 for older (high end) models that have nice features? I don't care about the camera or 3G, I like something not too heavy (old phone was 115g), touch or slide or normal or whatever, with WLAN. I don't mind QWERTY or numpad, but I'd like the phone screen to be not too small. If the price is within range, then 115+g is still ok. Thanks. |

I wish to buy a new Nokia. I have never used a touchscreen phone before, but I'd like to, because the screen is huge (compared to the 2.2 inch, S40 Nokia I use). I am, tho, a bit concerned about word typing on a touchscreen phone.
Guys, these are the phones I am considering: - C6-00 (touch, qwerty-slider) - C5-03 - X6 8GB - 5800 Xpress Music - 5530 Xpress Music - X3 Touch and Type (S40, 2.4 inch screen) RM550 at shop Which one is worth the money or has most value? Quote/estimate price if possible please. I am open to other brands, do you have any suggestions? Thanks. |

Guys I wish to buy a new phone (any brand):
- <RM800 - Touch screen - Qwerty slider - Metal casing - WLAN Does any such phone exist, or do all of them cost >RM1000? I don't mind ones that were made/released over a year ago. Otherwise, I want a phone that has: - Metal Casing - Touch screen - WLAN - Costs less than RM800, ideally ~Rm600 I ask this because a lot of the touchscreen phones I have browsed through are all plasticky, and the closest thing (N97 mini with metal battery casing) costs >RM1000. Added on January 3, 2011, 4:29 pmI saw the Nokia C6-01 which has a metal casing, but it's new and expensive. This post has been edited by LightningFist: Jan 3 2011, 04:29 PM |

QUOTE(Quantum_thinking @ Jan 3 2011, 05:11 PM) Because plastic is flimsy and less durable compared to metal. I regret that my previous phone (made of ordinary plastic) has become badly damaged, even though I took good care of it.Of course, any of them are fine if those "protective rubber/synthetic casings" are available. |

Thanks for recommending HTC Wildfire.
I'm not sure about its price, I found RM900-1000+ online, but since it's not super new it might be lower. I believe 5530 might suit me more as it is less expensive. However, I am mostly concerned with Symbian ^1 since a lot of people complain. If I wanted Android, what other phones could I get apart from HTC Wildfire, that have solid build quality (or at least have good protective casings available), and cost ~RM800 or less? For Sony Ericsson phones I don't quite like the normal user interface. If I buy an Android or Symbian Sony Ericsson, does it become more user friendly (like Nokia) for someone not accustomed to the usual Sony Ericsson? THANKS! |

So, then Symbian must be Nokia not SE now.
You're right, an expensive phone is not worth getting, I've made that mistake before and I really regret it. That is why I want a good low range Android or Symbian phone with touchscreen (because those OSs are not fun with buttons). |

Are there touchscreen Android phones available (without major flaws) for ~RM600-800?

LG Optimus One is pretty new, I like the specs and functions, good big screen, document editor, Android etc.
According to advanced/pro-users, Android/Froyo is better than Symbian^1 or Symbian^3 right? |

Ah I see, so Android is better for most people for occasional games. Symbian seems boring - many users complain of lag, plus the Symbian^3 Nokias have problems.
Wildfire looks ok but is expensive. LG Optimus One looks good to, slightly less. Samsung Galaxy 5 sucks compared to these two. I guess I will look at LG Optimus One - I actually wanted Nokias but there's all this bad stuff said about C6-00, N97 mini etc. LG Optimus One should have cover/protector available right? I'm a little clumsy with the phone sometimes. |

LG Optimus - commented ugly? I suppose it looks ok, though some have called it boring.
But I think it costs over RM800. |
