haven't been online for a couple of days, and it's V3 already? hohoho

tried Xilisoft Video Converter as recommended in the previous thread. I'd say it works just fine. tested with small clips first, like music videos and game trailers. the playback is smooth enough, although i need to make a custom profile for 640x360 resolution. hahahaha. so far tried 1000kbps bitrate setting, and the result is rather nice. i'll try tweaking with the settings some time later, maybe with a higher bitrate. still searching for a setting that balance quality with file size...

there's an option for that, go to Settings > Phone > Application Sett. > Default apps.

for "Browsing internet", just select Opera Mobile from the pop-up menu

"useful" can vary from one person to another. try checking out Nokia Ovi Store

don't get mislead by the term "store", as the site also have free apps. but you need to install it directly to ur phone, meaning that u have to get online with ur phone and download the apps since the site didn't provide any option to download it to ur PC first before moving it into ur phone..

have u tried to disable and re-enable the internet connection sharing?

i shared my mobile broadband from my laptop to my phone via wifi and it works fine until i disconnect and tried to re-connect, seems that no data transfer is happening. solved it by disabling and re-enable the internet connection sharing

as in my case, the option is under Sharing tab in Properties (right click >> Properties) for the mobile broadband network.

as i remembered, there's a check box under the Sharing tab that you need to tick to enable the internet connection sharing, and there's also a drop-down menu that allows u to select which network that u're going to share that network with, as is in this case select the Wireless Network. (I don't remember the exact one, can't check now coz @office.. PC here got disabled the settings by system admin. need to get back home to my laptop confirm)

for the mentioned disable/enable internet sharing, simply tick/untick the checkbox

correction:

in my case, i'm sharing my mobile broadband internet on my laptop with my handphone via wifi..

- in Network Connections, right click on the network which is the mobile broadband network, and select Properties.
- under the Advanced tab, there's a column for Internet Connection Sharing, just tick the checkbox that says "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" and select "Wireless Network Connection" under the Home Networking Connection.
- click on Settings, which on the bottom right side of the Internet Connection Sharing column, and tick all the checkboxes for "Services", and select OK once done.
- click OK again to apply all the settings.
- done!

please note that the steps mentioned above is for XP.. not sure about Vista @ 7

i'm not sure about that, but it's quite interesting though since bluetooth v1.2 has a data rate of 1Mbit/s, v2.0+EDR has 3Mbit/s and v3.0+HS has 24Mbit/s..

Added on October 14, 2010, 12:58 pmi've tried converting some videos using ur recommended settings and it works great! pretty much clear image, decently "small" file size and smooth playback.. already saved the settings into a profile in my Xilisoft.. hehehe

but one thing is, took quite a bit longer to convert lah.. 2 hours for a movie.. maybe next i'll put a few movies in queue, and let the converter run when i'm sleeping.. hahahaha

what can I do, my laptop is a 5-year old Pentium M 740 1.73GHz with on-board GMA900 graphics. nothing much can be done there. the GMA900 didn't even support Aero Interface, and this is the reason why i'm still sticking with XP

about your wireless connection, are you connected to a wireless network that needs some kind of web authorisation (such as those at mcD)..? coz u need to log in using a browser first before u can access the internet using other applications

it's like whenever i'm trying to use the facebook app while connecting to wifi@mcD, i need to log in using the browser first (such as Opera), then only the facebook app can access the internet. quite leceh la. but what can i do, free wifi.. lucky enough to find any around..

from previous discussions, seems that smaller memory size performs a bit faster..

maybe it's just the fact that smaller memory size requires less CPU utilization to seek through the mass memory..

from my experience, i'm having this kind of issue when using non-ori chargers <-- in case i borrowed my friend's

but when charged using my ori one, everything went on just fine.

this kind of case will sure give ur phone a nice polka dot dust stain at the back cover after a while of using it. clearly visible when u took it off.. hahahaha.. but still, i'd prefer this kind of case compared to the ones like the capdase silicone cover which tend to trap dust particles in between the case and ur phone.. got so many fine scratches

haha.. used that silicone case (el cheapo one.. not capdase-branded) for about a few weeks.. didn't really realize up until the time i took it off for cleaning purposes.. got so many fine scratches, especially at the openings for audio jack / usb port / charging port

went out to look for the hole-ly (holy? ) case the next day. been using it for about month now.

like ping0613 mentioned, can directly transfer. any folder would be fine since the music player will automatically search both of your phone memory and mass memory for audio files.

but it's a different story if u install AMA or PJP..
