Anyone can tell me how to install a driver for ATI A9550GE ?
I downloaded the driver special for linux from the ATI official website but when i run it, it say different coding and ask me choose other types of coding .(unicode, western, etc....) I have no idea what to do.

Another problem is the driver for Lexmark 645. I google around and seen like there is no driver for it. Anyone can solve it ? I need to get my printer works if not i have to stick with xp. If not, linux is perfect for my slow com.

If you forgot to install grub, just run ubuntu live-cd, open terminal then reconfigure yor grub bootloader $ grubconfig or you may edit /boot/grub/menu.lst if grub already there.

huntx,

Sounds like you have the wrong driver for the XP. Look up for the alternative driver such as at http://driver.wareseeker.com/Network-Card/...00.0.zip/323554

i have found out how to make it work on xp again. it seen like a bug...
but i will try to find a way to completely solve it rclxub.gif

You have to turn off eee, remove power cable, count to 10, plug in power cord, power on -> works.
It's in the LAN driver readme. You have to do this the first time you install the driver.

I have no experience on LAN ports failure in Ubuntu, Open, Fedora, PCLOS or even Windows and have used Marvell, Giga, Real Tek. It'll just auto detect.

my laptop is asus f5rl...which is using the same ethernet card as asus eee pc....

it seen like an weird problem that after i shut down linux and boot xp directly the ethernet card become unable to detect the LAN connection.
i have to turn off the laptop for few second after shut down then boot up window again...then it become normal hmm.gif
