I am a noob in Ubuntu... Can you guide me how to disable GUI in Ubuntu? Searched Google but not quite sure whether it is the one to be used.... The version is Ubuntu 6.06 ...

I had to use IE for the Internet as whenever I used Ubuntu, somehow the connection is too slow.. Don't know whether it is the connection problem or my own silly mistake?

I cannot connect to the Internet... I do not know why... The amount of packets are so low and the status is idle... Why is that? I have no problem using the Internet in MS Windows.. I am using Ubuntu version 6.06.... Thank you in advance for the guidance..
