ok guys i am a pure noob in this ubuntu thing and plz help me.

i'm using ubuntu feisty on VMWare player.
as i read all the guides and stuff on the net, there say install stuff by keying in the commands. but my problem is where is the compiler? where to key in all those command?

2nd. My speakers are not working as they say driver does not exist and my mouse cant scroll . anyone plz help me..

how did u guys bypass the insert cd command ? without that i am having alot problems ...
