I wanna ask you guys if you are using Ubuntu Desktop or Ubuntu Server? I wanna start learning Ubuntu, which version should I start with?

I installed Ubuntu 6.10 on VMWare Workstation. Then I had to install VMWare Tools but when I tried to, it says I am not in root, I dont have the super privileges. How do I become the root user? Or admin users?
When I was installing my Ubuntu from Live CD, it only prompt me for my name-desktop. Is my root account "name-desktop" and "password"? This post has been edited by Pennywise: Dec 24 2006, 01:48 AM |
