i have this really annoying problem... my keyboard is disabled whenever the linux in booted up..i was able to choose options on the boot menu from a live CD, but after booting into ubuntu(i tried kubuntu, ubuntu and ubuntu studio, all version 8.10), i cannot use my keyboard anymore..obviously it's cause by driver issue, but i don have any solution to solve it...
can any ubuntu pro help me out here?? really miss all the compiz effects..haizz

erm, how should i explain this...it's that whenever i run the live CD, or when i install ubuntu studio using the alternative DVD, my keyboard cannot use at all, suspecting it's the lack of driver support on linux platform, since benQ is not a hot brand over there

i don think so, cos i tried on Ubuntu 8.10, kubuntu 8.10 and ubuntu studio alternative 8.10.. all have the same problem, at the main option screen(where you have the choice to choose to load live CD, install or boot from HDD), the keyboard is still working, but after booting into the OS itself(installation or live CD), the keyboard is disabled

try using "manual", and choose unallocated space(the space u freed before this will be shown as unallocated space i think) as ur root partition, with the partition format as ext3, then tick the "format", it should install ubuntu, after that, i think following the guide will do
