Hey guys,do you guys encounter that the poundage on bench press and dumbbell fly is so different? I can bench a 20kg ES for 3X12, but barely a 10kgES for dumbbell fly.

Or I should ask is it all flies takes more effort? Cause my shoulder fly (lateral raise)'s poundage also has a big gap compare to shoulder press and upright row.Even front raises are much better.

Could it due to the technique? Or because all flies target and isolate particular muscle more?

Presses incorporate secondary muscles, eg triceps. They are compound exercise anyway. That's y u press more than u do on fly/lat raise, which are isolation exercise, using only mid deltoid in the case of lat raise, rather than ur front/mid delt, triceps, and supraspinatus in shoulder press. See why?

rclxms.gif Thank you. Understand.

To those that replied, thanks too.

Definitely not ego, just that the flies often break me into sweats and wondering what can be done to get over it.

After all, i'll still buried myself into the compound exercises for better foundation. rolleyes.gif Still a noobie afterall.

Cheers, every brother. Happy Workout. icon_rolleyes.gif
