eg in IT support field, in the beginning of course you need to do the basic job like helpdesk agent, then down the road, once u familiar with the process, there are many management tasks u can work for, provided the ppl above give you chance

yea, in the end i still have to start from IT field (frankly, i hate programming, i mean really hate)...nvm, have to see on sunday first...hope there is a good path for me to take
*
then dun take programming lor, there's plenty of fields in IT

for me I dun like being too deep in technical, I want to become like management in IT thingy, these are the ppl who earn big bucks instead of those server engineers, helpdesk etc

no money how to makan? i need to feed myself then only can feed others la

helpdesk is considered technical, because you just follow the procedures set by leads and managers, you cannot change it as you like, jobs like helpdesk, cannot work for too long

my previous intern company, the top of the dept, he actually started from helpdesk...i asked him how he got to management line since he studied SE, he said enter helpdesk, then slowly move from there, coz u learn to communicate with customers(not those TM helpdesk, higher level one)

management can learn over time one, its not a concrete thing, its like blow water, tok kok skills like our politicians, that's management

IT core with management is much more better than those management core with IT

what girls la  doh.gif

study management first hand means u alre on the management wagon no need to jump wagon like us now lo...from IT to management...extra step  doh.gif

Added on October 9, 2010, 12:11 am

yea, this i know, but employers out there dont know, they prefer u have the relevant "ticket"...if want to enter management enter sales line...start from bottom
*
again management is a very open ended thing, paper knowledge alone wont help much

management grads have lower starting compare to IT, because they don't have solid technical background, to be good in managing, you need to understand the process of the thing you manage, be it engineering or IT
