Hi all,

Dunno if this has been asked before...

My friend bought what is supposed to be blu-ray but it played on his ol' DVD player.
In Windows, it size is read as a little under 8GB.
Is this a real Blu-Ray or regular DVD?

Is there such a thing as single sided Blu-Ray/DVD combo disc?

50% chance  sweat.gif .  Blu-ray disc can never be played at DVD player.

Yes.  If I not mistaken, there is 1 kind of disc (don't remember which studio release this type of disc  tongue.gif ) with 1 side Blu-ray and another side DVD.  So, both side without cover art?

Nope. My friend's disc has art work on one side.
He said it's supposed to be genuine Blu-Ray.

The disc colour looks like DVD gold.

I'm guessing he's been taken for a ride.
Else some smart ass seller is pirating Blu-Ray re-encoded as DVD and marketing as Blu-Ray?

I know that.
Just wondering if they are selling combined DVD & Blu-Ray on a single side.
Like this:
World's First Single-sided Blu-Ray/DVD hybrid disc

I don't have a BD-ROM drive to view disc on PC
So if such an animal exist, I won't be able to test.

Correct.

Slipcover = cardboard thingy
Artwork = the one which goes around the BD case with info about the BD
Inserts = thingamajigs inside the BD case itself.

Then what do you call the artwork on the disc itself?
