Quick review on Last of the Mohicans. As reported, the encode seems darker than expected. This is one movie that would require a bright reference white calibration of about 50ft/l and viewed in an almost pitch dark room to appreciate. The normal 33ft/l in a dark/dim room might not be bright enuf.

The PQ looks good from my limited viewing.

How long is it delayed? I hv received stuff even after 3 months with standard shipping. What shipping and due date? They will normally ask u to wait 2 weeks past delivery due date I believe.

I have been doing bitrate scans on some bds I bought locally. Contrary to popular belief, the video and audio bitrates are identical to the us versions and so far the only differences are the language options for the lossy codecs. Where the us ones hv french, spanish we hv mandarin, bahasa. Disney titles r pretty well priced in some shops here and the bit rates for Alice in Wonderland were ientical. I will scan more and report as I find the time.

These were from kliav show. I hv seen disney bds at about rm90 or less and there is still some discount possible. Yes its possible to get it cheaper online but at some point if the difference is little I don't mind paying a little more if it helps the local economy, especially if there is no pq or aq deficiencies.

Just verified Saving Private Ryan, local version as well. It is the fixed sync version and is bit for bit identical to the us and uk versions.

Actually most bds are now RM99 and u can get a further 10% off that now. I saw A-Team BD at Artist Gallery last weekend at this price.

U need to use BDinfo to scan the disc and see if u can compare the bitrates of the US version (that shd be in the US forums) and the Malaysian Versions. I believe since it is a Fox title, our encode shd be the same as the one in the US.

Received the Lethal Weapon Collection. PQ is a nice bump from older encode (LW2). Grain evident. AQ good, not as robust as the new titles but better defined than expected. Will post a proper review when I complete watching them. One thing though it does not look like there dnr.
