damn.. what a waste. but i personally feel they should not categorize amateur and pro cup.. this is because most of the players out there have that kind of mentalilty. and most of the teams registered are from amateur cup registration.. we should make 2 prelims.. top 3 qualify. the implementation of medals is a very GOOD idea, it gives sentimental value

QUOTE(NecrosavaNt @ Nov 19 2010, 03:25 PM) the idea and intention behind having an amateur tourney is noble. but here with this mentality... yep i agree its noble... at this particular situation.. its not helping at all.. maybe the ban list is too long,, hahahahaa! ;p thats why only 3 teams registered. hahaha ;p

QUOTE(Koross @ Nov 19 2010, 05:03 PM) But the ban list is for the amateur cup, not for the pro cup. So I fail to see how the ban list would effect the pro cup's poor registration rate. If this is the case, then I could say for sure there won't be any amateur nor pro cup in the future. Just an open to all CS 1.6 tournament. oopss i think i am wrong at the ban list thing.. coz to think again.. yea agreed.. lol.. >.,< sorry..

QUOTE(Auricom @ Nov 21 2010, 12:58 AM) How does it reflect on the community on the whole, when the local distributor of the game are the ones organising, an entry free tournament with sponsored cash prizes to boot and not enough teams show up? The mentality of the newer teams are, for the lack of a better word, disheartening. We would have thought that the whole CiC7.MY fiasco with the lack of teams, earlier this year was the wake up call for the local CS community. There is no shame in losing, if you gave it your best and in the process learnt something new. Thats the only way to improve your game. If you keep playing against weaker teams, you'll never amount to much. Some of you seriously need to re-evaluate your goals for playing CS competitively. Alot of you talk the talk. Damn shame that not many walk the walk. THIS GUY IS RIGHT! Added on November 22, 2010, 2:02 pmhonestly.. we should play because we want to play, to brag, to compete. not because of the money.. QUOTE(jetz @ Nov 21 2010, 01:28 PM) IMO you don't need to give prizes to Amateur Cup since they want to stick it with being an amateur, they should be an amateur and there is no need for the money prize Want some money? Be a pro! lol isnt it suppose to be like primary school grad to secondary school??? if there were suppose to be rewards then it shud.. just that we need to step it up..
