Damn... effin' finally:

QUOTE
Hi everyone,

It’s been a while since we last updated on the forthcoming F1 2010 patch so here is where things are at currently…

The team are hard at work, and have been since launch, building the patch. We’ve focussed on both fixes to the game and a number of gameplay improvements based on your feedback. Once the process has finished, we can then release the patch for submission which will take an additional couple of weeks until it is available for release. Here is a quick overview of the main issues which we’re addressing:

1. Corrupt Save Games – We have identified an over-zealous anti-cheating check that manifested as falsely identified corrupt saves, specifically the ones relating to practice and R&D upgrades, the save-games should now load without issue. However if any of you are experiencing corrupt saves outside of this then please continue to send your PS3 save game files to us (Xbox360 & PC saves aren’t of any use to us) and we can test these against the latest patch to see whether all instances of this issue have now been fixed.

2. AI not pitting in dry races where a mandatory pit stop was required (20% or more) – This has been fixed.

3. Player held in pit-stop too long – We’ve improved exit logic so that it isn’t too cautious in holding players during a pit-stop.

4. Puncture frequency reduced – The likelihood of players suffering punctures has been reduced.

5. Pit-stop lock-ups – Fixed several instances which caused the pit crew to lock-up and not be able to service the cars.

6. Automatically updating race strategy – Selecting prime tyres from the tyre menu (over default option) now updates the strategy so that the pit-crew assign options during the pit stop as opposed to re-attaching another set of primes (in a dry race of 20% or more).

7. First lap calculates correctly – The lap time for the first lap of the race now calculates correctly, from the lights going out as opposed to the cars crossing the start line.

This list is not exhaustive of the issues being addressed in the patch but a snap shot of the key improvements. Please keep your feedback coming though as it is invaluable both for the work on the patch and for the design of F1 2011.

Once the patch goes into submission, we’ll try to give you guys a heads up as to when it will be live and ready to download as soon as we know.

Thanks for your continued support & feedback.

The F1 2010 Development Team.

Still quite a few things that needs to be fixed.
But the most game breaking one being frequent tyre punctures and pit stop hold ups is fixed.

Next they need to fix is the stupid penalty that you'll get for an AI BUMPINY INTO YOU.

WTF MAN MY SAVE IS CORRUPTED!

F!CK YOU CODEMASTERS. F!CK YOU!

All my god-damn progress gone along with the hours I put into in fine-tuning different setups for each circuit.
Hell of a good job Codemasters. Hell of a good job.

Sorry for my profanity.
But you guys better make back ups of your saves, RIGHT NOW.

Added on October 27, 2010, 12:28 amOkay so their patch are already being reviewed by Sony and Microsoft.

Well good news.
Played the game for a good 2 hours.

First thing first, my savefile is now SAFE.
God... what a relief.

As for the things they have fixed, well... the game is certainly ALOT less buggy.
I've tried some of the most race breaking issues like constant tyre puncture and that stupid pit stop bug.
Thankfully, both of these bugs have been fixed.

It is alot harder to puncture a tyre now, even I drove with a setup having the stiffest suspension and just literally destroying the tyres as much as I can, it was hard to blow the tyre.

Pitstop bug = fix'd.
No more stupid hold up, no more tyres not changing.

And another bug which has pissed me off alot in the past is how the AI would hit you and you'll get a warning or a penalty, this time... thank the heavens it has been fixed also.
The AI actually would get a penalty! FINALLY!

Yet to test enough, but the patch really made this game a hell alot more playable and enjoyable.
Because codemasters had to rush the game out and had some of the worst QC development on a game ever, it was deemed broken and stupid.

Was pretty amazed that the patch was only 35mb though.

Well most of it are all rewriting and improving the codes only~~
Like the pit stop bug thingy, it is basically the pit stop hold logic went a little too cautious or something
*
They said they had cosmetic changes to some of the tracks and how damage is alot more visible as well... I expected the patch to be around the 50mb mark atleast.
Oh well...

There are still some things to be fixed though, some people are saying that vibration are gone from their controllers with the patch.
I haven't paid attention to it, but infact I actually feel the vibration from the DS3 under heavy braking now.

Yea, some of my setups doesn't work the way it should anymore also... tweaks needed.
Overall, very sastified with the new patch WHICH should have been with the game before release in the first place.

Hope they can continue to improve the game.

Play grand prix mode... test using RBR and HRT car... although I drive HRT to the maximum limit the lap time still 2 second slower than RBR

RBR I'm not push very hard....all setting are same for both car...  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

read forum someone said that car setup are useless for underdog car..  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

hope others can verify this...

Before patch 1.01, it was laughably easy to dominate an entire season at Legendary AI with just a Lotus (HRT before the patch was actually, faster than the Lotus somehow).
Now though... no more of those crap, they have pulled the performance gap between the top teams to the mid teams from half second to 2 seconds, and the top to bottom teams of an average 3-4 seconds.

Meaning top 4 teams:
RBR, Mclaren, Ferrari and Renault are all faster than the mid teams of Mercedes, Force India and Sauber by up to 2 seconds on average.
3-4 seconds for the rest of the other teams, Williams is somehow considered a "bottom" team... sleep.gif
