Yeah, you really feel insecure and your life is meaningless. If it's meaningless to you, then you need to buck up and start moving on. Make something or do something that's meaningful to you and others. Once others get to see it, you will sparkle ... of course not everyone will be flaunted by your action however, some will approach you.

layman term, if you don't flaunt your skill and show to others ( as in a lot of people ) no one will notice you hence your feeling being in a desert. If you're exposed and showed to the world, then at least you get some attention ( can't expect the whole forest to fall for you )
