Riding on that, British Bank Barclays has upgraded its forecast for the ringgit in its latest quarterly report.

It now expects the currency to strengthen to 2.92 against the greenback over the next 12 months. This is an upgrade from its June forecast of 3.05.

The ringgit is currently trading at 3.09.
