Just to inform everyone, never never never buy dell projector. They are only interested to sell you the projector, but do not want to service you.

i have 2 unit of the dell projector.

1200MP, the fan is faulty out of warranty, call to dell, they just say they dont do service for dell and pass me to sales team, expecting me to buy new one.

another unit 1610HD, the leg broke off. I wanted to buy the parts from them. again, they tell me they don't keep parts for dell projector.

I have been using dell notebook and projector but this will change it. I will not get any dell product again.

You bought both the projectors directly from Dell or through authorized dealers?

Yep, true..i had issue with my office laptop (Dell), one of the key had issue. I contacted them , and within the next few hours they sent a technician to replace the entire keypad for my laptop..

Efficient and quick response..Probably projectors are not part of their expertise..

To be honest, my main rule of thumb is to avoid Dell products alltogether. By far, the WORST customer service I have ever encountered in my life. And I've experienced some pretty poor ones.

HP on the other hand have the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Fully recomment them (although I don't know if they do projectors or not).

As a response to TIF, every company I've bought an electrical poduct from (bar Sony) have repaired products out of warranty (usually for a fee). What the hell else are you meant to do when your stuff breaks?!
