But 2 years is international warranty or? No le, from what i saw is mostly 3 years, depends on brand but i saw Asus come with 3 years..

2 years international warranty for Asus all over the world...

Where did you see 3 years? like i said might it be a promotion or something? you can pay the extra 1 year warranty but it only applies to local distributed Asus laptops..

hmm....i oso think M11x the screen is too small....any other good recommendation for laptop that can compete with Dell Alienware?  tongue.gif
Besides that, can u guys oso recommend me an all-in-one pc (those without a CPU) with good performance? Following is my requirements:

1. Brand: Any (except Apple Mac)
2. Budget: <RM4000
3. Specs: Gaming (sometime, not very often), movie/video, internet streaming
4. Size: Prefer bigger screen/monitor
Am looking for a new laptop/PC since my old PC is dying.... sweat.gif

tons of laptop are cheaper than M11x but perform much better... The refreshed 4820TG with i5-480m and HD6550 for rm2499 can pawn m11x... If u prefer smaller, 3820TG with i3-380m and HD6550 for RM2199 coming anytime this week also... Or U41Jf, A42Ja, or the new Sandy Bridge Acer 5450G.....

The SB laptop is Acer 5450G, not sure when it is out, around these few days, some forummers/sellers already mentioned it in threads, PM Beowulf to confirm lar... that one is 15 inch and selling for RRP Rm2899, performance pawns the last few I mentioned, should be ur best choice...

Erm..anyone selling it at garage sales?tats is retail price or the lowest price??
*
Not sure.. It's only announced by our retailers last few days...

http://www.ncs.com.my/index.php?productID=2139

probably in stock already and see when they start selling only.. RM2199 is RRP, so garage sales might be a bit cheaper

My only issue with Acer is the quality and after sales service. Asus should be ok in terms of after sales service, but i am not sure about this.

I heard that Dell laptop purchased here's warranty is valid in Australia.

both acer n asus in malaysia have the same highpoint service centre I think...

QUOTE(seizer @ Jan 11 2011, 09:57 PM)
anyone can suggest a 3k laptop? So far i prefer asus brand
Budget is 3K!

so far this is what i got
asus X42JR Specs here
price =2599,+100 for 2g ram, +200 for 4 gram

and this one
ASUS X42JA
Specs Here
price=cheapest so far 3199

so is it worth going X42JA?
the differences are:

HDD size, bigger about 120gb

GC, newer model, ATI model 5740, 2gb DDR3... compared to X42JR with ati model with 5470 and 1gb ddr3 ram

RAM, 4gb.. compare to 2gb ram of X42JR
can anyone help me pls?
since my budget is 3k.. so it is worth going to X42JA?

and my purpose is gaming!.. and i want to use it maybe for at least 4 years
*
If you don't mind Acer, Acer 5750G is the best bang for the buck nowadays...

If wanna stick to Asus.. There're quite a few models coming in... Where did u heard of X42Ja? U mean A42Ja with i7-740QM and HD5730 is it? That one selling for RM2999 or less nowadays..

X42Jr is a NO NO if you wanna do gaming... HD5470 is too weak for any future games, can only run current games with low settings...

The few new models Asus coming soon are

A42JP - i5-480m with HD6570 (stronger than HD5730) @RM2699
A52JV - i5-480m with GT540M (stronger than 5730 slightly weaker than HD6570) @RM2699

N43JF - i5-480m with GT425M (slight weaker than 5730 but N series is premium series with better sound quality and build) @RM2699
U41JF - i5-480m with GT425M ( U series have long battery life and slim profile ) can last up to 8 hours... @Rm2999

If want Sandy Bridge,
A42SV - i7-2630QM with GT540M @RM3199

Hi guys, I'm looking for a new gaming laptop that is quite slick.

Brand. Any
Budget. About 3k

Size. Doesn't really matter.

How come I can't find A42SV anywhere also? Not out yet?

Sorry its A42Ja...
im sorry but when i went shopping, the latest model of ASUS i can found is a ASUS A42JA.. with price of 3.2k

Yes i want to stick with ASUS, preferring i-7,

HD 5470 1GB isnt good enough for current gaming? because right now im using ACER ASPIRE 4730Zg, with Dual Core only, and the game runs fine for PES 2011

and above recommended laptop, isnt i-5 going to be not good enough for the next 4 years?

THANKS for the help btw.
*
Asus A42Ja is only selling for RM2999 nowadays...

HD5470 is not sufficient at all if you're a serious gamer.. Games like PES2011 and Fifa are low requirement games so they're an exception.. i5 Dual core is sufficient in gaming because most current games only utilises 2 cores...

i7-720QM is only useful if you got programs that utilises quad cores...

Unless you get sandy bridge quad cores, that's a different story cause Sandy Bridge quad cores have high clock...
