The XPS is the replacement model for Studio line.... Pretty much those can do what you need, just depends mostly on your budget...

Overkill or not, its depends on your demand... Alienware provide better performance MBP provide long battery life with good performance... Price wise, its more expensive than XPS 15 though...
For Asus, there's Asus N53Jq, i7 740QM + nVidia GT425M@RM3999

QUOTE(GooD_DaY @ Nov 5 2010, 12:50 AM) anyone know will the price of acer 4820tg drop? approximately when and how much? thanks! If you need it why not buy it now? Might not easy to find stock as well. When the time price drop, new model already come out, and you might be tempted to get the newer one as well.

QUOTE(jasmine84 @ Nov 5 2010, 04:30 PM) Where can I get the importing notebook in malaysia? or australia? you can buy it from the retailer in US, and have it shipped to either australia or Malaysia, just depends which one more convenient for you. Laptops are non-dutiable items in Malaysia, so there will be no tax when shipping to malaysia. (Australia shouldn't too, but check just in case)

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Nov 4 2010, 02:18 AM) What if comparing with U45jc? Exclude the graphic card. Maybe in term of design (Keyboard, material etc) Btw, does A42ja worth the price of RM3499? This post has been edited by jookhong: Nov 5 2010, 05:34 PM

if you have the budget and you want that extra performance, then yes. If you want a laptop that has a longer battery life, then get the 4820TG
if you compared to the U45JC, i find the build quality is about the same, but i prefer the 4820TG design.
