hey i am planning to get this phone.. but i am wondering
1) does the lag fix really solve the lag problem? or does it still occasionally lag?
2) what about the gps? is there a fix for it?
3) is it ok buying such an expensive phone which is ap set? is it really risky?

no doubt i agree - the screen is absolutely brilliant!! but when the battery meter drops when i use the phone (especially internet), i think twice. I'm going to get some spare batteries and see if i can live with it. if not, when the desire hd comes, the galaxy goes.

Damn... took a wrong way to flash my phone... now end up black screen... but I could not use "volume-down + home + power" to enter download mode. Any other way?

Jjust flSh to kies jp6/jpm last nite. Overall still laggy I did not do factory wipe just. Clear cache. But one big improvement is gps locks fast stable n accurate. Rfs must go, its killing the fon

hey guys does the froyo fix the gps? and what if the gps can never be fixed can samsung refund us or rebate us due to the faulty gps?

I have emailed Samsung Mobile asking them to ditch the RFS file system, complaining that it ruining the good phone with bad file system.

Hopefully they heed my call. Don't mind waiting till december if they really can solve the all problems associate with SGS.

yeah thats true, not all users have a problem with GPS, mins using papago..lock t he satelite within 3-5 seconds. but lagging it actually effecting everyones phones.
samsung better take the lagging issue as a problem. and fix it in the final froyo.

Dude, i m on ZSJP2 since it leaked, used papago, bruts... lock within 5 sec. No issue at all.
Just used y'day at Sri Kembangan to Puchong. No drop signal at all.

I am using Papago and Google Navi. My GPS locks within 5 seconds or 10s if I am near some tall buildings.

I do experience some GPS accuracy issue like when I am under the flyover, it shows I am on the flyover kind-a-thing, but overall this is no big deal for me as the direction it pointed is correct. If I miss a junction, re-route is fast. The driving speed it shows on Papago is more accurate than my car odometer. No drop signals as long as my car above is the sky.

Of course, if I go into a tunnel, the signal is lost but it re-connects within 5 sec. So, I guess GPS is not a big issue for me. The only complaint about using GPS is that it consumes my battery fast. Still that is expected as I've been told by some in this forum.

I use Google Navi sometimes is because i find it consumes less battery but it is in 2D in Malaysia and it uses data. So I am installing bruts soon.. Maybe after froyo is out, cause now I got many apps to keep me entertain at the moment, hehe..

If it is a hardware issue, then it is possible to claim for warranty I guess. But how to prove it? 

No special GPS program like GPS booster install. I didn't tweak any settings to the GPS since I got the phone.
But I am not a frequent GPS user, maybe like once or twice a month, and everytime I use it, not much connection issue for me.

Anyone dared to try the voodoo for Froyo yet? I'm currently testing sztupy's JPM/JP6 'Goodbye RFS' 0.2 ROM. Not too bad, but still a big of lag here and there.

Froyo's really cool, some new usability tweaks I like e.g. text cursor/pointer, floating copy/paste toolbar..

those who has GPS problem, have you guys tried Voodoo lagFix, it does solve my GPS problem, please try it then come back with the result, no point keep complaining about it without trying to solve it

Stop wasting your time waiting and just sell the SGS and get iPhone4

Sorry if it's a noob question. When you flash it, does it consider rooting the phone? Can it be restored back to the original state
and install the official froyo once it's available? Thanks.
