Source and update.zip file

Firmware Websites:
http://www.samfirmware.com/apps/auth/login...OTECT-i9000.htm
You need to register and log in to access the firmwares

Odin3 software and .PIT file
http://www.samfirmware.com/apps/auth/login...OTECT-i9000.htm

How to flash new firmware:
You’ll need the following to flash the phone:
- ODIN 3 version 1.0 (flash program)
- .PIT file (the boot file of the phone)
- USB cable

1. Make sure you have Odin3 and the firmware ready.
2. Turn off your phone and take out/remove any memory card and sim card.
3. Go to Download Mode by holding/pressing Volume Down+Home Button + Power Button until the screen show up Download Mode with Android logo in working like this

4. Open Odin3 at your pc and plug the micro USB from you pc to your phone.
5. It will detect your USB and show your USB port number with yellow background(COM7) like this(ignore the Message):
user posted image
6. Make sure you place all the firmware files(PDA,CSC,MODEM) and .pit files into Odin3
PDA = CODE
MODEM = PHONE
CSC = CSC
You can download the .pit files from Samsung-Firmware website too..
7. Click Start and the flash will be in progressing..
8. After finished, your phone will be reboot(take some time) and you have successfully flashed your phone.

DXJG4 Firmware
http://www.multiupload.com/4EQOPSH2P6

You need 7z to unzip.
There are 4 files in it; the CODE, MODEM, CSC and PIT513 file.
There is no necessity to put the MODEM into phone and CSC into the csc of Odin3, because CODE tar file already included these 2 items.
Please use PIT513, with Re-partition checked.
If you use PIT512, it will fail.
P/S: Swype contains bahasa indonesia and melayu. useful for our malay friends.

Hi,

Thanks for introduce this great apps. i just installed and it looks great. If you dont mind,
would like to ask few queries on this apps.

1) Do we need to close the whatsapp or just leave it on? Will it take up data usage while we leave it on?
2) How do we close whatsapp?
3) If whatsapp closed (stop running), will incoming message be prompt?

I check my data usage and it keep increasing even i do not download anystuff. So i suspect that
it's cause by whatsapp (did not send any message via whatsup)

Cheers,

Danny

1. it will auto-sync even though u close the apps..it work as SMS..and ya it will use ur data usage but a little bit only
2. i think go to Account in phone settings and disable the sync
3. if u enable the sync from whatsapp, then it will get incoming message

u can check how much data used by whatsapp on it's settings

it not really lag inside the program/apps..
the most annoying thing is when u click/access the apps,it will hang for 1-2 seconds to go in..but of course not all apps also like that

i dont have any crash on my SGS(i mean apps)
i have over 100 apps and all work fine for me...

i still can received the sms (incoming SMS). So what is the different to disable and enale the sync?

Cheers,

Danny

actually im not quite sure on this WhatsApp
from what i know,if u disable the sync of the app,u wont get push message from the app..but u can get the message if u access the app
but in this WhatsApp,it looks like it sync the contact only...
maybe u can try disable the sync then reboot ur phone and go to phone settings>applications>running services and check whether whatsapp service is running or not

Hi,

I disable the sync and reboot the phone. After the phone restart, I recheck again to ensure that the sync is disable.
Then ask my colleague to send sms to me, yes, I'm able to receive.

So I can confirmed that the sync if only for the contact and the Whatsapp is running all the while.
The good news is, if we disable the sync and dont received/sent any sms, I think no data usage for Whatsapp (according to Network Usage in the Whatsapp).

Cheers..

wait,u mean ur fren SMS u or send message via Whatsapp???

the MYR currency is simply jsut a conversion from original currency(eg. US$ to RM)
it does not mean u can see paid apps yet..
