Ya i was there in Tesco Puchong on Saturday, could not find the cable, i would assume Cross bought it from the one in Kota Damansara? Anyway I will check in Low Yat Plaza the next time i am there, this is quite a common cable nowadays.
Yes, this is quite a common cable. Tesco one is about RM28. I can even get it at the hardware store near my house for < RM 10. ;-)
Instead of using spare battery, why don't u get an emergency battery charger? Anyone here using? What brand? Wht brand do u recommend. I m thinking of getting tekkeon or sanyo. Anyone using tekkeon?
where to get emergency battery charger from? any links?

I hv a case n hand strap for my sgs. It's not easy to remove the battery cover all the time. Can u understand? Emergency battery charger is more convenient.

how much for Momax and SunGlobal? and.. how much for the battery charger station?
sanyo mobile booster varies from rm110[2AA type] to rm160[lithium ion type]. Tekkeon [4AA] over the internet is selling abt us$20.

I have been using Tekkeon MP3450 for the last 5 years . It is very good, reliable but big ( 6.5 "x3"x1" ) .
I used it to charge all my notebooks ( comes with a variety of power inlet heads EXCEPT no Macs support ) and my Windows, Symbian and Android smartphones. It was expensive then , cost me about RM800 directly import in from USA. Now should be cheaper with slimmer models.
If you travel a lot , this is a good investment. I do not know whether this brand can be purchased in Msia - no harm checking it out. I can only say it is very reliable and it oozes quality just by its looks unlike most of the external chargers I see selling in LowYat. Charging notebook will extend its battery life by another at least 10 hours while phones, never really tried I'd say days !!!
I m looking for tekkeon mp 1550. It's uses 4AA instead of lithium ion. I can swap the AA batteries in my digital camera in case thy run out of juice. Problem is I can't find this being sold here in malaysia. :-(
anyone know how to turn off the network connection? my maxis always connect to the internet when there is no wifi....how to disable it? i tried closing all the apps but still connect to internet using 3g or gprs..its is wasting my money on data..
Easy way is to go to market and download any one of the APN on/off apps. Hard way is to go setting==>wireless network==>mobile networks==>Access Point Name==>maxis internet==>APN type==>tick MMS. Done.
thanks..if i tick mms then i open any app also will not connect to the internet?
Yes, when u choose "MMS" only, u will not be able to connect to the internet. Please remember, if you want to use internet again, you need to go back and tick "internet" As I said, the easier way is to go to android market and download an app that can let you turn on or off your data with a toggle switch. There are at least 10 of such apps.
is that the only way to exit papago without draining the battery life?? that sucks then..whats the best solution then for it?cant have it any other way? unless waiting for better othe GPS system to release on android?
After exiting papago, I notice the GPS connection is still turn. This is what is draining your battery. You just have to go to your GPS button and switch it off.
that i already know...if you go to batteries consumption, itll still says papago still running..number 2 after your display.
Well, I dont face any battery drain problem on my SGS after exiting papago and turning off the GPS. But if I exit and dont turn off the GPS, then the battery will get drain off very fast.
The voice dialer that comes with the phone can perform simple voice command but not typing a message. Wifi at the moment. 3G connectivity hack has been done in XDA-developers though.
Added on October 13, 2010, 12:49 pmBtw, Guitar Hero sucks. It cannot detect multitouch on my device and that makes me fail badly in Expert mode because they need multitouch.
I have already dl the apk for Skype 3G connectivity but havent installed and tried out yet. Anyone already done that? Does it work for 2.1? It said on the website that it works for 2.1 and higher.
try to turn on your papago and then "exit " after that check your battery use...see if papago still there or not
I did as you suggested. And yes, "papago" display can still be seen on the battery use even after I exit papago. However, it doesnt seem to zap my battery.
My battery level at 2:30pm = 74% My battery level at 4:30pm = 74%
I made no calls, etc... in these 2 hours...just on standby.
i get that sometimes supposed to go SGS thread went to SG5 instead LOL

thats great to know then! i supposed it doesnt zap my battery as well lol. cuz i t hought when "papago" still on the battery use itll drain my battery! good thing to know that it doesnt
Yes, it doesnt seem to zap the battery at all. It's now 6:30pm; my battery level is still 73% and I can see the papago still on display on the battery use display ;-)
Guys, is there anyone else who are using broadband simcard in their phone instead of regular phone line sim cards?
I'm planning to use my SGS as internet device and let my new n8 handle my main phone line.
I used to use the broadband simcard in my sgs, but it's a hassle changing the card and APN every now and then. Get a mobile wireless router or mifi, it makes life much easier. ;-)
