Has anyone attempted to upgrade to JM6 on maxis set using registry hack?

I tried to upgrade to JM6 using the registry hack but only got an option to upgrade to JM2

Any ideas?

And finally... when using Papago, etc, when the app goes into background e.g when a call comes in, the GPS goes offline. Then when the app comes back on, the GPS will again need to re-lock. This is annoying. Any way to keep the GPS on at all times when there is a location aware app running?

Hey guys, according to this website, Froyo will fix the lag and GPS issue. Not sure how accurate is this as many of you all feedbacks are it is no difference.. But I am hoping for the best...

prepare to let your froyo start flying

Waah, this Froyo JPM + root + voodoo setup is so tedious..

1. ODIN Flash to JM8 (or JM9) with 512 pit file (repartition checked)
2. ODIN Flash to JPM with 803 pit (repartition unchecked).
3. ODIN Flash PDA only (for CF-Root-JPM-v1.2-Busybox-1.17.1.tar)
4. ODIN Flash PDA only (Voodoo-5-pre3-Froyo-GT-I9000-odin-pda.tar)

Effort was totally worth it, though..

P/S - Had to do (3) before (4) because the pre-rooted Voodoo tarfile was a bit flaky - some apps were not seeing rooted phone status even though I had installed SuperUser and Busybox.

So after flashing to JPM then I delete the folder then I flash to Voodoo pre 3?

which firmware you're on? Heard that JPM/JP6 hybrid doesn't work, only on JPM, JP6 or JPA

I think you left our one step in the sequence (in bold)... create folder - reboot phone - flash jpm - remove folder - flash voodoo... just my observation... all the best... try reading the XDA forum on this for more details...

do you guys have any problem with the 720p recording, the video quality is awesome but the audio quality blows! its freakin distorted when you record it at a big venue like concert or sport events where everyone applause and screaming...

now when you compare it with Nokia N8 the audio and video is just awesome as. i believe the software is a bit dodgy for this. cuz some one recorded an audio with an app called Tape Machine, they can controll the
sound and came out with good quality...

i dunno if this will fixed in froyo or not but i know in froyo itll recorded in MP4 instead of 3GP on eclair...any possibility that they fix the audio for 720p recording guys?

For those pros who flashed to many fw before, which fw is recommended?
JM7? JM8? Or is it  better to go for official froyo?
