Only SME (Samsung Malaysia Electronics) is the official distro. Any other, it is AP.
8GB = confirmed AP.
You mean SME only selling 16GB?8GB = confirmed AP.

BTW, does US has Galaxy S I9000? Doesn't theirs called Captivate or something? Which doesn't come with front facing camera. |

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Oct 4 2010, 11:58 AM) Only 1 solution, keep checking your WhatsApp Network Usage info, after you disable the sync. Thanks again. I do that (checking on the Total bytes sent) and found that if I did not received/sent any sms, the total bytesSorry if this doesn't really work out. My data utilisation is still way below, despite just 500mb package. So I don't really bother if it use or not (at least for this month). will remain the same(this show that Whatsapp is not taking any data usage). But when I checked on the 3G watchdog, the kb keep increasing (only around 20 - 50kb every 30 minutes). Note: I disable all the email push (I set it to manually retrive) I really like Whatsapp alot and hopefully it did not takeup too many data usage when we did not sent/received any sms. Cheers... |

QUOTE(VinceLee @ Oct 4 2010, 12:07 PM) great reference for gps settings here: Actually, secure or not, I don't really bother. Unless ISA wanna trace me. Hahaha.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732030 is it safe to off the Secure Socket? Even if ISA wanna find me, I better go off the net/wire/tech, to be safe. So, just location information, secured/encrypted or not, don't care la. Besides, without encryption, it reduces the overheads/data packet size, although minimal. BTW, I followed the instructions given. Not sure if it improves my GPS locking speed, cause all the while, it's acceptable for me for the A-GPS to lock. No complain on it and I tried not to use it too, cause accuracy down the drain one. Don't want to be driving on the Malacca Straights like I did last time when I was cruising on the coast of Penang Island using my trusty E66's GPS. |

I am doing it. See page 7 on my post.
I tried this method earlier on with original voodoo v3 + oclf. Later I uninstall oclf coz I scared got conflict. After reading the thread at xda. I decided to try again using the new voodoo with stock kernel (which believe to be better than original voodoo in terms of battery saving) + oclf. So far, after half day of use. My phone is still flying. :-) This post has been edited by matsuru: Oct 4 2010, 12:58 PM |

after i bought my sgs 1 month ago, i just load in my personal documents/picture/papago maps inside my sd card. i didn root it at all.. just stay everything original. i never let my phone battery 0% until yesterday. a long trip to pantai jeram & sepang gold coast.. i use gps all the way.. utill last time to home not more then 1km away.. my sgs battery 0% then i go home and plug in charger and charge it. at the same time i turn ON the phone with charger plugs-in, 1st thing my sgs will boot up and ask my simcard pin then "media scanning" and this happen >>> ur sd card is damaged! and needs to format >.< *aargh!* all my photos!! is gone!! lucky is those previous photo i transfers to my sd.. not those i taken recently. here is my sgs info ----------------------- memory card: 8gb sandisk micro sd class2 firmware version: 2.1-update1 baseband version: I9000DXJG4 kernel version: 2.6.29 root@SE-S604 #2 build number: ECLAIR.DXJG4 |
