Guys, any of you try connecting your Wildfire with Ad-Hoc wireless connection thru a internet-connected PC (hot-spot)?

I've tested the whole morning, it's unsuccessful. Because Android can't connect on adhoc basis.

Is there any better solution? FYI, my office does not allow Wireless router due to Fix IP issued for each person. Only way is to connect thru my notebook's internet. Well, you may ask me, why need internet on Wildfire, since already on notebook...because - Pingchat & Whatsapp social app in my Wildfire, can't connect from notebook.

Please kindly advise any better solution. Using 3G or HSDPA is draining my battery very much. Tested, at home last Sat, whole day connected to WiFi, it's more battery saving compare to connect to 3G.

USB. Once connected, from phone I tick Mobile Network Sharing (instead of charging, sync or mouth disk).

Bluetooth cannot connect for Network Sharing. Tried already. No dail up network.

Before u connect your wildfire to PC, do this on wildfire: menu>setting>application>development> tick USB debugging. You are now ready sync you wildfire with HTC Sync 3

No,you can't copy apps to sd card without rooting your wildfire (need app2sd).

Desire = 512MB RAM...which is same as Wildfire...no point getting it unless going for the SnapDragon speed & better screen.

Well, Desire HD definately a better upgrade for Wildfire user. But hey, what am I going to do with my Wildfire (resell value not so high)....

Considering to keep using Wildfire, until it finish burning the Wild....

I noticed that Wildfire's phone dailer is not perfect.
Example : Can't edit (totally) before calling. You need to erase (backspace) then re-enter again the no. at the back, while can't edit the center.

Any chance if rooted Wildfire perform better in this? If yes, I will go ahead & root it tonight.

no understand what u talking.
*
Haha....try this :

Press Phone > edit your last call no. (say you want to change the middle portion), you can't change unless you press backspace to del some no. then re-enter the no.. Try pressing the middle part where you want to start edit, you will end up calling the no. instead of editing.

Hope you understand my question.

Why I can't.
*
Phone > hold the no. that you want to edit before call. Click on "Edit Before Call"
Then you can use the optical track to scroll left & right to edit which ever portion...DONE.

I am a happy man. rclxms.gif
