This is one of the most subjective question that I was ever asked:
"Why do you wake up in the morning? Don't tell me it's because you need to go to work because if you can have it your way, I'm sure you would rather do something else rather than go to the office".

A HR person from one of the global investment banks asked me this question. It was a few years back and I'm pretty sure I won't meet anyone who will ask me this question anymore. But it still have me wondering what would be a good answer to this. I can't remember what I answered though, but I'm pretty sure it was a bullshit answer and I don't even want to remember it! Haha...

Well, you already answered that question. If I were you, I'll tell them exactly what you mentioned, it's a contract job and you served your contract but unfortunately there are no more projects to work on hence you didn't stay with the company.

If the below two questions were not asked during the interview, I will answer them together with "Why did you leave your previous job?" question.

What kind of job would interest you?
That's the reason why you're looking for new opportunities and briefly state what kind of job would interest you, which ideally should be the job you're interviewing for.

How will you bring value to this job?
Tell the interviewer what I learned from the previous job (summary of points) and how you can add value to your next job.
