How do you handle a situation where you want to secure the job offer, but at the same time the job that I actually want is at another place? Do you just ask them to give you a month for confirmation? What if the want you to start, say like in a week? What do you say?

QUOTE(bunny65 @ Mar 18 2018, 06:08 PM) Could you please elaborate? What do you mean by "the job that actually want is at another place"? Do you mean the company has other branches and you have a preference for another location? If you have good reasons why you cannot start immediately/soon, be honest with the recruiter. They are usually willing to accommodate such requests if they see potential in hiring you. For example, my interviewer asked if I could start immediately in March by working part time while studying at uni. I declined because I planned to start after my graduation in July. She accepted and I proceeded to the next round of interviews. My bad, I meant "job that I actually want" It's actually a different company, same job but it's a really well established company. That company usually have high standard when hiring but recently they have an opening which someone like me has a chance to get in. Problem is, they said it's gonna take more than two weeks to process my application so I don't know when am I getting a response. I don't have a high qualifications, so I can't afford to blew this interview for a job I'm not 100% sure going to get by seeming not committed to get it.
