you could get any typical table rather than using a shelve..

here's my previous setup, now using DFP instead of MOMO, although mine is PC and not PS3(this is PS3 wheel thread), but you still could do something similar with a smaller table which can put near the TV/PS3..

for the degree of rotation u'd need to google around cuz I don't own a PS3 so not sure how it works but I'm sure there's surely a way to configure the G27 just like how it can be configured on a PC..

You can't adjust the rotation degree on the PS3. But then again you are doing it wrong if you are spinning your wheel drastically to clear a corner. In GT5 even tho the steering rotation is stuck at 900 degrees, you can clear much of the corners with only 240 ~ 250 degrees of lock. And that is using simulation setting for the wheel, AKA no steering assist

Controller : g27
cockpit : Sony Special Edition Iron Board

Experience:
1. G27 is ultra heavy, the seating position is awful and to make thing worse Iron Board also vibrate like mad when play on gravel map....so need to buy or build a proper cockpit

I also bought HDMI -> DVI cable but the monitor failed to display, maybe need to reset PS3 display mode

YOu don't really need a cockpit. Just a stable table with a good chair will do
