This line trembles my faith since it requires me to login.
This site takes advantage of the Steam API and Steam OpenID provider. So how does it work? In a nutshell, when you click the button above to log-in, you're forwarded over to the official Steam site. They validate your username and password as usual, and then respond to the TF2 Store, verifying your Steam ID.

My response was almost similar to your nick when I found out about it too.

EDIT: I seriously doubt anyone would be willing to trade it away unless you gave them rare hats. All we need now is key drops.

I've yet to hear about anyone getting a key drop. I sincerely hope they'll implement it as a drop too. It'll make crates much more valuable & I've too many of them now.

I don't mean to offend anybody but 1 key = 3 refined metal is not worth it IMHO.

I'm one of those who will not purchase a key so my opinion might be biased. Most of the people I met in game who kept buying keys to unlock crates are those who are hunting for hats.

Basically, if you have 3 refined metals & 1 crate, this is what you can get if you craft the metals for hat:
3 refined metals = 1 random hat + 1 crate.

If you trade away the 3 refined metals for a key, this is what you'll be left with:
Either 1 of 7 weapons, 5 hats, a name tag, 4 paints, a duel & 2 unusual items. Worst case scenario, 3 refined metals = 1 equalizer.
