But 9pm - 11:59pm is not "Good night', but also 'Good evening'.
'Good night' is only used when saying farewell, not when greeting. You do not greet your friend on the street with a 'Good night!'. You greet your friend with a 'Good Evening', this was the case when I was staying in England.
