using good morning and good afternoon only in a day is not wrong, since morning means before noon, and afternoon means after noon.
i use good evening when the sun is down which is normally about 6/7pm. if duno what time it is then i just use "hello" and "good bye", or classic "greetings".
when u start to say good evening ?
