No wonder it is cheaper than HTC Tattoo and Wildfire..
2MP camera only, internal 170MB.. hmm.gif  hmm.gif
However, this phone can be categorized in the lower end phone of Android family proudly and newbie will be looking for this kind of phone as their tryout and for sure it'll make sense to them..  nod.gif  nod.gif

Agreed...it's a big yes for an entry level android phone for a big cut down price between the x10 mini(yaaa...they have a decent cam)..my only hope is that it can upgrade to 2.2...heard from the salesperson that our neighbour(spore) have it... cool2.gif

but i really dont like Galaxy 5 Design... btw is it Galaxy 5 have good speaker?

When you use it as audio source for external amplifiers (such as a car or home stereo) the Samsung I5500 Galaxy S is a loud device with good frequency response and decent noise level and dynamic range. Its distortion levels are slightly high and the stereo crosstalk isn't the best we have seen but that's hardly much to worry about.

When headphones come into play the frequency response gets a bit worse but its deviations still remain undetectable in all but lab conditions. The total harmonic distortion improves in such conditions but the intermodulation distortion and stereo crosstalk suffer.

Overall, as audio output is concerned, the Galaxy 5 is a solid performer (though short of spectacular).Credit to gsmarena.com.

Sounds are wisely played..it have a 5.1 when u are using the headphone... icon_idea.gif

So sad, my new toy is in Samsung Service Centre..... (really glad that I bought an ori set and haven't rooted my phone yet tongue.gif)

description of the problem I face
- suddenly the phone hangs frequently. Have to remove the battery to restart but will hang as soon as I put the back cover on.
- when charging overnight, the battery won't charge but will instead overheat.
- the techie told me that he will try to re-install android and see if it is a software problem, if not I will have to leave it there for 4 working days.

I am not complaining, just sharing with all what happen to my new toy phone and I am pretty sure that it is indeed a great for value phone

Sorry to hear bro...may the best upon bringing yr phone back...thanks for sharing these...at least we can be sure that our phone are well taken care for the warranty by Samsung...

Sure does bro...go to...menu--settings--wireless and networks--mobile networks--access point names--select celcom 3G internet...change the name to Celcom 3G Internet--APN(celcom3g)--after that all the above listings u should leave it "none"--except MCC key in the number (502)--MNC(19)--authentication type(none)--APN type(internet) then click the far left button on yr phone to save.just click once...it will pop up a save icon...u are done in these section.

Then go back to APNs--choose Celcom MMS--Name(Celcom MMS)--APN(celcom3g)--leave all those things above (none)..except at the MMSC key in(http://mms.celcom.net.my)--MMS proxy(10.128.1.242)--MMS port(8080)--MCC(502)--MNC919)--authentication type(none)--APN type(mms)....save it then u are good to go... icon_idea.gif

rclxms.gif Nice

actually there is a method to assign own ringtones for android

build up below folders in SD card root directory
"Ringtones"
"Notifications"
"Alarms"
Just place your mp3 over there, then go back the "setting" you will found it

Cool...thank u teacher... icon_idea.gif playing mp3's with 3.5 earpiece with 5.1 stereo ch...were so amazing and very pleasure to your ears... icon_rolleyes.gif
