I strongly believe I have been scammed. A man responded to an ad I placed last week in Mudah, looking for some car parts. He promised to post with Gdex on the 20.04.13 after I bank in but until today I've not received the items, and calling his h/p always goes into voicemail.

The details as below.

Name: Muhammad Amir
H/p: 013-3443118
Maybank: 151204168142
CIMB: 0601075022152
Location: Kuala Terengganu
Amount: RM1550 (into Maybank)

If I make a police report, and take the report to Maybank, are they obliged to provide the a/c holder's details like address, i/c or h/p? I don't want any disputes, only my money back. Anyway friends please beware of this person.

I'm referring to this post https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1579999 .Today I wanted to swap my iPhone 4 with a used iPhone 4S and with some extra fee, so I posted it on a mobile website that I've forgotten what it is.

Then at night, this particular guy with Whatsapp ID: Johnson Tan, 0129962936 (the phone listed as scammer) whatsapped me.Here's how it goes.

Modus operandi:

1. He offered me a brand spanking new iPhone 4S 32GB Maxis set, and I have to give him my iPhone 4S 16GB together with an extra fee of only RM200!

2. At first I agreed, then I asked him to arrange for COD (this is what I normally do when buying expensive stuffs online to verify). He asked my location, I replied that I'm in Selangor, then he said that he's in Johor. Not possible to meet, so he said that swapping the phone could only be done by courier.

3. I insisted for COD, asked if he has any agent in KL, he said none & suddenly getting pissed off by replying "Jangan risau, I'm real, I orang Cina niaga, bukan anjing."

4. I replied that it's because there were cases where customers receiving parcel containing wooden blocks, comics etc because of the postmen etc.He said don't worry, his friend's father is the boss of Skynet, if anything happen there's insurance, he'll be responsible.

5. I asked him one final question: "Explain to me how this deal is going to be done", and he replied "You pay, we send together, ok?" My hunch kept telling me that something isn't right, because:

- He didn't even ask for my phone condition (scratch/dent/unlocked etc).
- He didn't even afraid if I were going to con him by not posting my iPhone when he did so, never ask for my assurance.

I ignored him for a while, trying my luck by googling his phone number to get any info about him if possible and there he is, listed as scammer.Hopes if he reads this, he'll know the reason why I ignored him.

So people, cash-on-delivery (COD) is the key to not let yourself being conned, unless he's a verified seller, good feedback etc.Still, I usually COD.I wont take the risk.

Hi,

I wanna share with you all. Thanks TS for this topic, I would want to post my dreadful experience with you all. I hope you all didn't get conned like I do. Beware this guy.
This is the copy of the thread from mudah.my I manage to save.

Attached Image

Firstly, I have wasted about RM560, damn alot for trusting this guy. I thought this is Ramadhan day so everybody not to mention mostly malays would stop do such things. AKU SEDIH DE. I plan to buy ps3 so I could celebrate with my friends and family during the fasting day and soon for our Hari Raya AidilFitri. BUt how to say, got conned by this guy.

This sony gadget here, I prepare his biodata,
CIMB Bank: 12730002901208
Name: AHMAD AZRI

Phone no: 01125544708

I want my money back. I keep telling him that if you don't have the ps3 then just give my money back but surely it's futile. So it's lesson learn, never trust everybody even sama bangsa when dealing with business. Yeah and beware guys I don't want you all to get trapped like I do.

In case if you said did i survey about this person, yeah i did. I look at his number and cimb but found nothing.
I called him a lot of time now, didn't answer just leave your voice mail.

Kesian tapi aku sungguh tak halalkan duit tu walau apapun. Kata orang niat tidak menghalalkan cara. Kau guna duit tu tolong orang susah pun, duit curi, tak dapat apepun.

WOW guys look at this man.

http://www.mudah.my/Ps3+320gb-22653952.htm

It's looks like the modus operandi. But this time I can see like the seller is cunning. They change location to Pahang now but earlier Terengganu. I think this guy has a lot of account created. But it's exactly the same words. I hope you guys be aware.

bro even tho if you could provide details to the bank. like bank acc number they cannot do anything to freeze or to go in anyfurther to check the persons acc.
and then this goverment policemen will call this type of scams. ADVERTISEMENT scam. type your laporan into the computer try to call up scammer if still come bugging you for money....policemen will call the bank branch and just ask for a few details...they didn't come up with the address of the account owner...letting you to knoe that they are doing their job. and this kind of fraud cases ....alot happening in malaysia. so people don't fall into their tricky brains...they will psycho you until you have no more money...
