Below 30? i think there's less than 1k of people who earn more than 10k in M'sia. Besides money is not everything. Different people have different goals in life.

QUOTE(LeeteNg @ Sep 29 2010, 12:22 PM) yea i agree with papa. that day me, goon and cindy just talk about it. it's not depends on how much you earn. because you see right now, my burden is quite big. so the more you earn, eventually the more you spent. sometimes to be "pin pin fan fan" is better. That's the rat race. It's like playing the cashflow 101 game (http://www.cashflowboardgame.com/)

There's an estimated 2 billion people living on less than $2usd per day. 1/2 of those live on $1usd per day.
It's highly likely that most of us posting on this forum is in the top 5-10% of the world's population in terms of luxury and income.

QUOTE(eruannwen @ Sep 29 2010, 12:35 PM) u are the designer and the one who can shape ur own life. at the age we are, the world is our oyster. we determine what we want..yes, circumstances may depict certain semi-fixed elements, but that should not hinder us from stretching ourselves to realise our life plans. our mind is a great thing...make it an asset to u, work it, use it..because no one can take away it from u but urself. nobody's life is wretched...ever. unless u let it be so. That is true for anyone in the middle income class and above, it's ironic however that the people who complain the most are usually people in the middle income category. >.<

QUOTE(quireyuyue @ Sep 29 2010, 12:40 PM) i think those who r spoilt mostly never know about the real world if ur friends all have ps3 and psp, you think it's a must to have a psp. But if you live in a slum, even a can of coca cola is a luxury. I have known someone who went on missions to brazil, he gave this can of coke to a street kid. 1 week later when he visited him, the can of coke was still held preciously untouched.

QUOTE(eruannwen @ Sep 29 2010, 12:51 PM) or just taking a longer and more sweat filled route to come up right beside those who have chosen to lie back and enjoy. er... no wor. I think if you earn 3k and above, it's highly likely that you're in the top 20-30% income bracket in M'sia. People always think that the poor if they work hard enough they will be able to be affluent but the poor are often the ones that are the most exploited. A lot of poor people remain poor, the success stories are often less than 1% of the poor population. This post has been edited by Tak3shi: Sep 29 2010, 01:00 PM

QUOTE(KVReninem @ Sep 29 2010, 01:05 PM) who is he? My ex-classmate, he managed to enter UM after applying 10'000 times and he had good result. i think like almost 7'as or above. He have to change uni 1/2 way cos UM one came 1 year after he's in another college so he have to burn his ptptn loan money but at least UM fees are way cheaper than private so still can save as opposed to private.

QUOTE(coolie @ Sep 29 2010, 01:06 PM) Are you sure 3k is in the top 20-30% tier? http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/eco_gro_...come-per-capita11k per annum. Average income. May not be that accurate but i think it's not that far off. There are way alot more blue collar workers as opposed to white collar workers in M'sia. QUOTE(quireyuyue @ Sep 29 2010, 01:18 PM) tat 3k is in USD right?? That 3k is per annum. so i convert and round it up to RM 11k. that's like 900 per month. I think not so accurate ba the should be around 1.3-1.5k but maybe it's really that low. Added on September 29, 2010, 1:21 pmQUOTE(coolie @ Sep 29 2010, 01:19 PM) Then those people earning 5-7k a month is in 10% range? higher, maybe 8% or 5%. QUOTE(coolie @ Sep 29 2010, 01:19 PM) Then those people earning 5-7k a month is in 10% range? malaysia's pop is 28,310,000. 10% is like 2m, definitely dun have 2m people earning that amount, should be less than 1m ba i think.

QUOTE(coolie @ Sep 29 2010, 01:25 PM) Hmm, not even 2m people earning 5k? i was under the impression that anyone above 5 years experience in IT should be earning around that zone though - well that of course depends on which company. Normally, MNC would've paid that much I'd say. How many mnc's are there in m'sia? compare the number of employees they higher to the pop of malaysia. The white collar ones not the blue collar like tea lady, etc. This post has been edited by Tak3shi: Sep 29 2010, 01:28 PM
