@mikelanding @Ji3MOON
I was able to pair with my blackberry, just not tethering. I tried setting the bluetooth to discoverable but same result. What I finally did is reload the OS and now it works fine :/ |

Speaking of tethering, I encounter the same issue again - blackberry not found. Why is it not consistent? |

Hmm, I tried to book movie ticket @ gsc.com.my with Playbook's browser and it returns with an error indicating my browser are not supported.
Why did they remove the browser identification in OS5. QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ Jun 9 2011, 12:39 AM) It kinda work i guess....I restart and update the software again (weird that if I remove the AOL & Yahoo email account, it will detect my playbook as not having the latest software. |

Overall it was fun playing around with some of the working Android apps and the one I am using the most is Kindle.
However if you gona install it, make sure you are prepared to wipe your playbook when RIM release a new update because to date there is no tool that can uninstall the beta Android app yet (from what I read @ crackberry.com) Perhaps someone might come up with a way later... |

^...but our Playbook are connected to WiFi only? I guess it will still see the IP...so VPN or Proxy would be the only possible way to purchase app?
Anyway I was in SG few days back and when I am connected to the WiFi, it prompt me to update my PB. I installed it and the only difference is Music Store which was not available in Malaysia. Update : w00t! By using the free US proxy from the list here I was able to purchase the app (very slow for the appworld to populate) After the purchase is completed, i just cancel the download, connect again without US proxy and "re-install" the app successfully. (there were error at first but after restarting the Playbook everything is fine again) This post has been edited by PrivateJohn: Aug 21 2011, 08:25 PM |

QUOTE(Baronic @ Aug 22 2011, 01:12 AM) I'm interested with this device and to see how far it could go, I decided to try to enter runescape to test java and flash on my friends pb. Low and behold it doesn't work! "java not installed!" I think most of us are buying Playbook for its untapped potential.It also depend on your priority. Blackberry Playbook probably has the better browser in replicating the experience on a PC browser due to its flash support. (still, there are some website which is not compatible yet due to bad programming. eg. online banking for Alliance Personal which was only fixed recently.) Blackberry Bridge is another big + for me because I have 1 work & 1 personal Blackberry. I can bridge to either one based on my need. Form factor. 7 inch is just nice for me to carry around. If it's 10'inch tablet, i doubt I would be carrying it as often. |

QUOTE(asnie88 @ Aug 25 2011, 12:09 AM) Small size (73mb) but big different. Now we can use native and most off 3rd party apps in our playbook without tether your BlackBerry (Browser,Facebook, weather, etc -except video call and appworld). This is awesome....now I will bridge my device more often. The BB Playbook bridge feature is becoming more and more practical.More detail, http://crackberry.com/are-your-3rd-party-a...ook-os-v1072942 |
