hi all PB users. i am considering a tablet to help me with my mobility. browser is a very important deal breaker for me.

i want to ask, how is the PB browser in comparison with a pc browser? i need the PB browser to fulfill my stock trading function. ipad is definitely out of the menu because of browser limitations.

basically, i need a tablet browser that can perform what a pc browser can.

reason i am considering a tablet is because to lug out a laptop, is impairing my mobility on the move.

i am already a 9900 user, but the browser doesnt support java.

yes. without java plugin, PB is a no-go for me. same goes for all the tablets

can anyone test this pls?

i dunno if i should get a pb now and enjoy os2, or hope for a pb hardware refresh.

in short, my bridged apps in my PB is not working. it keeps on opening my browser. i can see bbm notification on my PB, but when i click to open bbm app, it launches the browser instead of the bbm app. same goes to apps like message, calendar etc.

even when the browser is opened, it says server error. what is happening?

some may ask why playbook and not ipad.

for me, its bcos of the tethering capabilities. i dont want to rely on wifi so much and also dont want to fork out additional data plan. therefore, PB allows me to leech data usage off my bb. not forgetting the bridging capability.

also, for me is the form factor. its small to be easily carried around.

thirdly, the ability to play various movie formats without conversion.

no doubt PB looks like a dying platform, but i dont think RIM will allow this line to be dead. if they pull the plug for this platform, it will have a very very negative impact on the company.

i dont pew-pew much on tablet, thats y ipad did not cross my mind at all. it is more like the PB vs android devices.

after the update, my PB is VERY sluggish. now trying the debricking mode.

happened to me. i reinstalled using the debrick method,

1. shut down your PB.
2. launch DM on your windows.
3. plug your PB to your PC.
4. it will say that your PB cannot be connected something like that, and if you would like to update.
5. click update.
6. then you can go sleep. the entire process took me 4 hours (maybe faster if you are on unify. i am using streamyx).
7. when you wake up, your PB will be clean and new.

Did u turn off ur PB completely?

would you opt for wifi file transfer instead of bluetooth?

RESOLUTION:

Set a password to your PB and the "Standby" button will work accordingly.

how do you use gestures with the case covering the bezel?

If got scratches, next year buy new playbook. Maybe will have better specs to support bb10.
