can we start compiling the best application for pb? as we know, the application for pb is very limited, so its good if we can compile for the benefits of others.
on another note, why not have a group for pb owners? we can have tt and exchange info.

Guide: How to Have Playbook Tethering & BIS Access at the same time

As a Playbook AND BB user, there are many way to get connect. 1 of them is tethering to your BB phone. But during tethering, your BB will disconnect from BIS and a msg "Modem Mode Enabled" will appear.
As a powerful user, I need my bb to alway connected to BIS while I still want to tethering for the same time.
I saw some tricks at crackberry forum and want to share with U guy.

The step as below:
1) First U need to get into Engineering Screen aka Help Me screen. U can do this by pressing alt+ RIGHT aA +H in homescreen. Screen below will pop up:
user posted image

2) Then, U need to find out the lock code to go further.
This is the link to generate the lock code: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9610464/HelpScreen.html
U need to key in all informations as what appear in YOUR Help ME! Screen:
user posted image

3) Once U got the code, type in the code on the Help Me! screen.

4) If U type in correctly, below screen will appear. Select Multi-WAP Engineering Screen

5) Select Tunnel Engineering Screen

6) Change IP Modem Solo Mode to DISABLE

7) Try tethering your Playbook with your BB, U will see "Modem Mode Enable" but your BB still connected to BIS. smile.gif

Please aware that there is a RISK to screw up your BB if U dont know and dont follow the above guide. I am not responsible for that. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

@mike,
I'm using Curve 8900 5.0.0.1067 with Celcom on BIS Professional Lite. I'm unable to go into the engineering screen. I've tried multple times and confirm that all are correct. While tethering, i open services option and it says connected to BIS.

QUOTE(mikelanding @ May 20 2011, 11:53 PM)
@arif,
did u go into the Engineering screen and check out your IP Modem Solo Mode is Enable or Disable?
What model U using? Under which Telco
I am using Bold 9780 OS6.0.0.546 and using Digi Smartplan RM78 per month.

Also, if U can tethering and still Connect to BIS, then this step is not necessary. smile.gif

just upgraded to os 2.0 beta - i feel its snappy and better. the folder creation is much awaited as well. now i gotta learn how to side load android.
*
sir,
i'm planning to do the same as the official 2.0 will only be iut next year, can't wait already. Can you please share the best website that has tutorial/instruction to do this upgrade. I've manage to find a few, but since you have do it with success, might as well i follow the same instruction that you have followed.

what happen to all the existing application and data on your pb after the upgrade? will it be lost? do you need to download or repurchase the application that you have download/purchase?

lastly, have you manage to sideload any android app? appreciate if you can also share the sideload technique, and the application worth to be sideloaded.

TQ
