Installing .apk files in Android

1)Register for gmail. If you already have it you can skip this step.
2)Open Android Market.Login with your gmail account.
3)Search for "File Manager" app under Applications tab.
4)Click it & the file will be added to the download list(something like fapman)
5)Go to download tab to initiate download.
6)Make sure you save the .apk file in the sd card or N900 emmc(in my case it seems the sd card unmountable so I have to save the file to N900's emmc)
7)Navigate through the File Manager to the .apk file.
8)Tap it & follow the rest instructions.

I removed by swype & reinstalled it with way just to try whether this method works or not,And it does perfectly. My swype still "flying".

I got it...I used Installer to install tongue.gif

depends on your needs

E7 different class vs n8 vs N900

E7 = symbian 3 = amazing qwerty and screen and capactive
N8 = symbian 3 = amazing camera and capactive
n900 = amazing internet capability, amazing photos with fcam , resistive, running maemo aka flexibity can install other OS like meego, android and possibility windows phone 7 OS too
*
Meego still superbly unstable and Windows Phone 7...wow...N900 is really really superbly cool if all can installed together even if not dualboot also ok tongue.gif
btw, Android is nice for better games and a little bit of showoff tongue.gif haha

Install Mplayer & SiB.SiB is the GUI for the MPlayer.
*
SIB is the best but don't try to play videos higher than 540 height video because it will lag...dropframes also will cause lots of problem smile.gif keep pixels max at 540px height...

Did you set the connection for 3G/Data to always ask or WLAN only?
If you didn't, when the wifi is not detected/lost, it will auto-switch to 3G/Data connection.

Previous we have someone whose bill shoot up over RM700.
Another way to check is check your data usage
Settings --> Phone --> Home network data counter
You will see your total data sent and received via Network.
*
130++ I think not data cost gua...so little...my dad's friend son use Iphone subcribe to data plan but digi people forgot summit...his data went to 2k++ lol...
Mine is very very low cause no data cost and I call to my parents free anyway it's postpaid plan tongue.gif

hi guys, i just got my N900 smile.gif any advises what to install first?
*
before anyone flame you to look at frontpage, let me tell you please look at the front page tongue.gif
Just look at the front page lar...but main thing is add the etras-testing repositories into your App Manager first so you can get alot of those apps that are still in testing such as FCAM smile.gif
good luck...don't touch Extras-devel unless you're sure what you're doing smile.gif
However Nitdroid from Extras-Devel is somewhat giving me no problem whatsoever so you might wanna install that to be able to play games like Asphalt 5 when you boot into Android smile.gif

Welcome and Enjoy smile.gif

Added on October 15, 2010, 7:24 ambtw, Nitdroid installation requires a MicroSD card and the guide is on page 26 of this thread smile.gif
