anybody know where to buy casing for n900 ?
*
There are basically 2 type of casing for N900
1st is the snap on hard casing. That's crap. It'll break off easily.
2nd is the otterbox case. This is the best case for N900 but it's bit expensive.About RM120 if I'm not mistaken.

Other then these 2 I don't know any other case.I'm using my phone naked.Prefers this way.No scratch till now even though I abuse my phone alot.

P/S:Leader is back!

Speaking of N8,seems like it got it's fair share of minor issues.
2 of the rangers have to return for warranty already.

After having tested a whole multitude of different cases for me (dead due to overwork) N900, I'd say that unless Epikcase/Capdase comes with a TPU resin case for the N900, the Otterbox REIGNS SUPREME.

Yeah, it's a bit expensive at around RM100, but heck it outlasted the phone it was supposed to protect lol. Cons? You have to buy it online or second hand - nobody selling it locally.
And hard cases fail on the N900 - as it does for most slider.

@aspire: Fun time eh with the N8?
*
There is resin case for N900 but nobody want to bring it to Malaysia mad.gif

Seems like N8 have auto connect to 3g/wifi issue.I wonder how many N8 users going to curse the phone once their bill come out.
Seems like Andy have to return his phone for warranty to.His N8 display got some problem.

I assume you got the game installed?

Haha...Nokia will never take me in customer service if anyone from that company read my comment about their company policy on Maemo.
I've already criticize them for treating N900 like a stepchild.
Now they have earned my truest a bit with announcement of PR 1.3 & MeeGo 1.1 for N900.

For me I just use the 825mhz clock and it seems to work perfectly with my baby.. I don't know why ur baby is hang like that..coz i still not oc it to 900mhz like you bro.. anyway, please share with us your experience after you reflash your baby..thanks..
*
If you use titans kernel to OC you can make custom OC.
Like me I have 4 OC setting.
a)600Mhz(stock)
b)700Mhz
c)850Mhz(My usual choice)
d)1Ghz(Seldom use)

I can choose whatever speed whenever I want with titans kernel + quick launch.

I'm using quick launch because my desktop go no place sad.gif

QUOTE(DET_D5t @ Oct 18 2010, 02:22 PM)
i did read about this at the Jakiman's thread

1 question, is it need to reboot whenever you change the speed?
*
No.You can keep on changing the speed as you please. However if you reboot the clock speed will return to stock speed. It's a fail/safe method in case your OC fails.

QUOTE(azizija @ Oct 18 2010, 02:23 PM)
hyee guys,
im new here and really love the ability and the potential of my N900 and still stick with this gadjet.not for IOS or other android for sure..
im also not tech savvy person, but im the loyal user of nokia..hope nokia dont break my loyalty to them..he he..need further assistance from you guys...

just a noob question, what is different between advance power user and Qcpufreq app that can tweek our cpu speed..can somebody describe the detail about it..thanks...
*
Maemo is actually pretty easy to get used to.

Advanced power user aka titans kernel is a alternative kernel to custom OC.You can defined the clock speed that you want & also it contain mulltiple OC profile that uses lower voltages.Lower voltage OC means higher battery life.

I never used Qcpufreq but I think it's some sort of OC tool for newbie.Heard it's simple to use.

ya after reboot it will return to default speed(600mhz).
but we can also change the default to 850mhz or 1ghz.
so everytime we reboot the phone, it will automatically boot at 850 or 1ghz speed.
*
Stick with 600Mhz.Else if your phone got into worse case scenario it'll still bootable with stock setting.

Download quick launch.
Link the shortcut from 4 empty space to the 4 saved OC profile.

At lab right now.Cannot really explain everything.

Try follow the same steps but with lower clock file

I don't know how to check voltage with letho's kernel.I'm using titan's kernel.

Any side effect if bootable with 900mhz/ differs with the stock setting??
I also using the fiasco image from the frontpage..
and i already tested two power.. 800mhz and 900mhz..
everything seem to be ok..
No lag issue, just some minor lag while using Fcam..  hmm.gif

Let Say, If i want to switch to the Titan's Kernel, do i need to revert back to the stock setting first, then proceed to OC
or
Juz proceed?
*
From what aspire(TS) said the device runs just fine.

Titans' kernel should overide the omap(default) kernel.
You can proceed to OC manually straight away.

Bit complicated.
Better if you just install it & mess with it.
You can read the guide to see know the settings.

Remember,no point asking if you don't try it yourself.

Browser (oh the woes). It hurts to watch the stupid Nokia Browser after knowing just how incredible MicroB (a Maemo Nokia Browser on N900) for the association of Nokia and Browser to be tarnished again by this poor excuse of a browser. Opera Mobile 10 helps a lot. I can’t wait for the new browser that’s supposedly just as good as anything on the market (even MicroB?)

I cannot help but to grin at this part brows.gif

MicroB is a very good browser I think tongue.gif
*
microB is all maemo's devices crown jewel.
It's probably one of the best browser around also it's one of the very important part of N900 because N900 comes from Nokia's Internet Tablets family which emphasizes on internet functions.
Some of the tech reviewers including Apple fans carry N900 just for the browsing ability.

microB is based on Gecko(Mozilla) but upcoming MeeGo browser will be based on webkit.I'm hoping that devs won't regret this choice because if the end result turns out anything less than spectacular, every single maemo fans gonna criticize them.

We get to dual-boot Maemo and Meego on N900 so if Meego browser not good we use Maemo browser lor tongue.gif

I won't accept this kind of solution.
As successor Nokia Internet Tablet I & any other people people who have used NIT's accept only the best from the browser.
