Hi forumers,

Anything better than a 3.65% FD rate for 55k? I tried the ASM, couldnt get it at all. I dont know stocks, I dont hold any UT. Had 2 accounts for HLA Cash Builder with yearly commitment about 5.5k.
Still have around 30k(FD 1m 3.0%) waiting for something better. Any idea what to do? Thanks.

These are people that will lost everything because "Not knowing what to do" and DID not seek advise, if you want to get something, learn from others first. For learning from your mistake by not seeking info on what to do first would be costly and normally you don't get a 2nd change.. like ancient proverbs ; Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day, show him how to catch fish and you feed him for life;. ...see, you needed the some one to teach you how to fish.Find your journey, not depend other guide for your journey, it is not a journey unless you go along the journey physically.. At the end, money is gone.....yes,..maybe..i can be gained too..

doh.gif one forummer once posted this....
Every investment come with different risk and rewards, there is no such thing of best investment.
Want better return then need to exposed to the risk of it.
So it is depending on individual risk tolerances and preference.

I am buying a low cost house costing RM72k. The loan for 20 years tenure requires monthly repayment of roughly RM 500. Should I repay the additional RM390 I left from my monthly income into the housing loan since the interest rate charged by the loan are higher than most of the low risk investment available?
*
hmm.gif under normal condition, it is best to pay off loan as soon as possible....but I would suggest that you keep the RM 390 saved and reinvested.. this is built up your "CASH" reserved" for a few years just in case something unexpected popped up later.....(ex...motor got stolen, brother needed a bike later to start work, replace a new TV, family member hospitalized, etc...)
because most "investment" vehicles expects investor to stay invested for "at least a few years" to enable reasonable ROI.

Hi, i need some ideas on good investments. I can save roughly Rm2k-3k per month and the money is just lying in the bank. Some are in FDs.

I put a small amount in Unit trust but i chose to add whenever i want.

As for AS, the last i checked, it's all full.

I'm also looking out for property instead of leaving it in the bank.

What other options should i look at?
*
hmm.gif I think you have to understand your own risk appetite...a good investment should not affect your "sleep", emotion, lifestyle and etc when it is bearish for some time.
an example is Investment Risk Tolerance Quiz
http://njaes.rutgers.edu/money/riskquiz/
and many when googled.
