After following this thread for a week or so, i think I should no longer only think, I should post something here and do it.

Salary $2400+ nett
Fixed:
Rental $200
Student Loan 1: $200 (when finish paying this loan, will increase loan 2 by $200)
Student Loan 2: $200
TV epp: $250 (Left another 9 payments)
Maintenance: $75 (average it out for /month)
Utilities: $100 (all in, elec, water, phone, gas, internet, magazine)
TOTAL: $1,050
Variable:
Petrol: $200
Food + Entertainment: $850 (eat out, self cook, gf)
Home: $200 (sometimes parents accept, if they don't, will bring them out for good food or a trip with equivalent value, worst case, just goes into my saving)
TOTAL: $1,250
TOTAL OUTPUT: $2,300
BALANCE/SAVINGS: $100 ++ (I sometimes will have OT, so it will automatically go into here.)
My plan is when my pay comes in, will throw RM300 into my savings account. RM200 into another saving account which I can withdraw during emergency, any balance during end of the month, goes into savings.
Planning to change my 20 yr old car to a 5yr +- vios by end of this year.
Upon changing car, I should be able to have RM300++ extra to finance into it ($250 from TV and saving of $50 from petrol).
My forecast on spendings by end 2012 early 2013

Wondering should I just leave my monthly savings in account or dump it in those monthly FD thing to generate a little bit more interest

Tried breaking the food to weekday + weekend:
WD - Breakfast RM2
WD - Lunch RM6
WD - Dinner RM10
$18/day
WE - Breakfast RM0
WE - Lunch RM6
WE - Dinner RM20
$26/day
Assuming 4weeks + 2weekdays
($18 x 22days) + ($26 x 8)
= $600/month
