There is no one answer for this question.

Have to see:
- your capital
- your risk appetite
- your financial goals
- your knowledge
- the time and effort u willing to put into managing your investment

9 months but I am confirmed now. The situation is that I have zero savings. I think I should have that emergency funds at least 6 months then consider acquiring a unit. Renting sucks and sharing a rooftop can be difficult if you don't know the other occupants really well.

Tentatively the location is somewhere in Damansara Perdana. I think that is the only area within my affordability. My office is in Damansara Heights by the way.

Any ideas of a good mortgage plan? I am looking at the MBSB first home buyer package where you don't have to put down payment, but I am sure there's a catch somewhere.

the interest rate is just higher. are you bumi bro? if it is i think it's a good option. for a unit of rm140k i still you still have some spare left.

say 5k total income, 5% increment

Deduct EPF, 550,no tax (below 3k), left 4,450 deduct expenses, say 1,500 = 2,950 x 12 = 35,400.
5k, 1 year 60k @ 60% saving? 36k? plus bonus 1 month = 36k + 5k = 41k only

23-24 - working
27 - saving 150k..three years? or 50k per year?

32 - 400k ?

that's because his thrifty ma.. I believe the scholarship mentioned includes allowance and they are paying him in USD probably studying oversea. Every penny you don't spent will accumulate and for someone at the age of 27 he could be talking about the only few profession which would take him approx. 10 years to complete his studies.

When compare this guy with rm150k to a guy that a millionaire before 30, this rm150k is nothing. So, don't compare others to yourself. Just do it what is capability and advantages. Find ur own way and duplicate the success that u perceived is right strategy.

I am 24 years old, single, a full time worker and a part time student.

My fixed income after deduct for EPF is RM2000. But if I'm outstation every week(plus2 allowance) I can earn around RM2600-3000(Not fixed). I stay with my mom and dad.

(FIXED)Deduct:
Car Loan: RM500/m
Insurance: RM100/m
Unifi bill: RM150-160/m(depends on call in and out)
Phone bill: RM80-110/m

(Variable)Deduct:
Food: RM150-RM200
Petrol car: RM120-160
Give money to my sis/bro/bibik: RM150-200(total)

Other expenses:
Degree studies fees per sem: RM1900-RM2000
Car services: RM200-400
Belanja2 family makan: RM100-RM200

I have already start investing in ASB, but seems that starting September, I won't be able to invest much like I did before(RM1000-1200) as I need money to pay my study fees.

I need help how to allocate/save RM3000-RM5000 as I want to give this money as a present for my little sister wedding january next year and some money for me to invest for ASB. Also I want to buy Samsung Galaxy S4(RM2200) as a birthday present for my mom next month. Also need a proper financial management advise as I'm a terrible manager myself.

Hi guys, need advice due to screwed up financial decisions; Was pushed by family to get an entry level Japanese car @ 100% loan, 9 years 2.48% (GG Liao). I am 22 years old (foreveralone.jpg) and I feel I'm terribly ridden into debt.

3000 - Salary
0425 - KWSP + Socso
0150 - Company Stock

2425 - Nett Salary

501 - Public Mutual - Fixed
300 - Education Loan - Fixed
752 - Car Loan - Fixed
401 - Personal (Toll, Phone, Bills, Groceries, Food, Social, Car Maintenance/Care etc. etc.) - Variable. Last month budget burst to 500 due to too many social events by boss.
200 - Petrol - Variable
150 - Room rent - Fixed

120 - Balance Savings

Suggestions required to improve this situation. Thank you all notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Not enough liquid asset for rainy day.. that investment i consider as commitment/debt as I was forced into it and I have no access for its capital/dividends for 20 years.

Public Mutual = no access for 20 years??? who forced u??? blink.gif

rule of thumb, BEFORE U INVEST, u must have a reserve of some liquid assets for emergencies, 3-12 months of ur expenses depending on ur job security

Parents le, who else want to force..

Job is somewhat equivalent to government job, very secure, but very minimal increment. Promotion also rarely will happen.

I know about that rule of thumb for a reserve of 9 months of debts+expenses, but what to do le, parents overpower me le..
