I’ve taken a look at Samsungs new Galaxy Tab, and I have to say that I’m very impressed. It’s got a 7” touchscreen and will run android 2.2 (froyo) which is pretty awesome. It’s as quick as an iPad and with all the new apps coming out for Android, I think it’ll be able to soon rival it in sales…if the price comes down a bit.

I already have a touchscreen phone and a laptop, so I don't see any need for a tablet.

Google has spoken. Eclair or Froyo was not designed for tablet. Many available apps will not run or not optimized in such resolution. So you see quite many apps bundled from Samsung.
Impressed? Not really unless AMOLED is in. Anyhow, good try from Samsung but pricing could be better.

I dont thing samsung galaxy tab is a failure. In fact i think it is an enhanced form of iPad. Anyway the two camera and the flash integrated browser are more than enough to pawn iPad. That is if samsung galaxy tab is priced competitively!

after android 3 release by year end maybe galaxy tab will shipped with newer android 3 later?
anyway we already seen working galaxy tab with froyo 2.2 which i say is not bad at all
if people want to say 7" is too big as a phone then maybe i will be more agree with that compare to what google say 2.2 is not for tablet
i think google just try to play the game that "android is MINE (google)" so when google say ready then only it is ready

how come we can talk about failure if the device is not yet sell in the market? and Galaxy Tab has caused storm when it's announced and touted as iPad killer! for the Dell Streak, there are lots of users in US and UK. The failure is not the device, but more to poor business strategy by Dell. Lack of advertisement, plus there's no T-mobile support Streak and only available to AT&T in the US. For the updates, I don't really blame them for not releasing the update yet, although i'll be swearing if suddenly they decide to not provide the update.. plus what Dell has done to it's donut 1.6 is something can be praised of. they really put lot of efforts on it and based on that, i believe the official 2.1 / 2.2 will be a hit! by the way, there are numbers of Galaxy Tab thread already.. Android itself already is iOS killer, and despite it is optimized for tablet or not, it is still possible to run on big resolution device, the good thing being open source platform

You're right then! The OS itself already kill iOS! What a loss to Apple.. iPad rival? galaxy Tab? Too early to talk about it and too late to don't wanna know about it.. Yes, maybe on official announce it'll come with Android x.x (2.3 or 3.0 I dunno) aka Gingerbread and a lot of supported resolution of apps and games will come.. as dattebayo said, thanks to Android for being an Open OS..
