im very very afraid King Kenny cant deliver what we want in this modern football, i dont want a legend turn from hero to zero.....
Apparently King Kenny is managing Liverpool Academy since 2009. So in other words, he's not completely break up from the modern football.

A manager may excel in a smaller club, doesn't mean one is capable to handle a big top club with star player around.
A manager may excel in Serie A doesn't mean one will be good in PL, and the style of football is totally different.
One thing is I would like to say is that please do not hire manager based on cv on cup game.
Cup result can lie, while league table/stat won't.
Carlo Ancelotti did..

Got us double last season, but that's not the point.
Jokes aside, yes I must say that picking managers through their reputation is not really a wise decision but don't you guys think that how did they actually built up their reputation? Of course through club's progress and recent performance. You can call themselves lucky for going through all stages of knockout rounds in CL or their country cup but how far they can go with luck? There's definitely something to do with players or the manager's tactic. Maybe this case can't really apply to Liverpool cause RH did brought Fulham to EUROPA cup finals but didn't manage to win.

But he did brought Fulham to EUROPA spot last season in EPL. Perhaps like some poster said, some manager are meant to manage small clubs, can't handle when comes to big clubs with big stars around.
Here's a more interesting read but coming from caughtoffside, better don't fully trust it.
