Hi guys, I have a question regarding about updating my iPod Touch 4th Gen to the latest iOS. My internet is killing me if I update via iTunes because the file is 600MB+ and it takes forever to download it. So my question is, can I download the .ipsw file which is provided by Apple and update it manually by holding Shift key + Update button on iTunes ? 1 - Am I doing it right ? 2 - Will my settings and data be erased by updating like this ? 3 - Is it risky ? Thanks.

QUOTE(shinchan5347 @ Dec 21 2010, 02:19 PM) i click the update button while holding the shift button but nothing happened.. Mine gives me the selection to choose which file to update from. The problem is I'm not sure whether it's safe and my settings and data will be erased or not.

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Dec 23 2010, 07:12 PM) scratch resistant doesn't means anti scratch 100% Yea that's why I'm asking how hard will it takes to scratch the screen. I've no time to get a new screen protector and the mirrored protector is annoying as hell !

QUOTE(marcus20125 @ Dec 23 2010, 07:24 PM) you can get anti glare matt screen protector Yea that's also a good choice. But it'll kinda degrades the screen quality.. (Or will it ?) Looked on some reviews on the internet and some says it's a scratch resistant "glass" while some say it's just some hard plastic.

QUOTE(piscesguy @ Dec 24 2010, 06:22 PM) I don't bother to put any screen protector lo...still scratchless now.. I like the feel touching the naked glass... Haha yeah it does feel good while scrolling with that glass. Merry X'mas.

Hey guys need some help here. My Settings keep crashing, when I tap the settings icon, the settings come out then it crashes back to the home screen. How to fix this ? Running iOS4.1 not jailbreaked. EDIT : It's working again after I plugged into my PC and run iTunes. What's with the problem anyway. This post has been edited by fabianz03: Jan 14 2011, 09:09 PM
